Upgrading your gear won't upgrade your photography skills. Only upgrade your gear if you feel will that your current setup limits your vision.

That's the first book I read when I started and highly recommend it to everyone, gave me a great understanding of the fundamentals. That and the National Geographic Field Guide to Photography.

Been shooting a lot this summer, and putting on a lot of miles chasing storms.

All these are post thunderstorm sunsets

And these are the storms that came through before those

doood so sick. seeing storms like that, especially when photographed well, just gives me an eerie feeling in the pit of my stomach. we don't get stuff like that in the northeast, or if we do, we can't see it because of the terrain.

last weekend there was a distant lightning storm where there was a bolt literally every 3 seconds for over an hour. I was at a party and ended up going home to grab my camera/tripod

One from yesterday, haven't been out shooting in the city in awhile so I spent an hour yesterday walking around. Way too many tourists everywhere because of Lolla so I'm gonna do this again next weekend. It helps that I moved right into the city now so I can walk around whenever I want ayy.

Nice!! I'll add to that collection some time this weekend. I left my charger and extra battery at my parents place when I went to visit them. Supposed to get it today. Will hopefully be heading to Banff/Lake Louise area tomorrow!

In the meantime bought myself a new toy yesterday.

Anyone see this?

http://resourcemagonline.com/2016/08...e-seams/68877/

Forget the failed Kickstarter campaign with no refunds, who would buy from a company where the person running it is nameless and faceless?

http://fstopgear.com/about

Seriously, look them up. Under contact there's an email address and phone number. Dig a little deeper and all you'll find is a PO box.
