Defense gets the 3 and out and then Gabbert with the pick. He has Celek open underneath and the defender closing on Kerley, not sure if he was throwing to Kerley or just badly overthrew Celek but the pick is the result. Great ****ing timing.

Gabbert now with more INT than TD this season, had a higher yards per carry avg tonight than yards per pass avg.

Also is it me or does the D play soft, like I know they aren't that good but it seems like we miss a ton of tackles and even when we do make tackles it always the offender moving forward or getting an extra yard or two as they spin down. We need some people out there laying hits down and making big tackles.

Defense is definitely playing soft. Part of that is the DL is beat up and we're missing Bowman inside + lots of youth out there.

They'll put it together eventually but right now they're just under manned and it's showing.

Put in Kap. Blaine Gabbert needs to retire.

I've watched none of the 49ers all season and this is what I know.

What's weird to me is the OL is starting to play poorly as well….not as bad as last year but they've been getting worked a bit too much for my liking.

No question the biggest issue is still QB. The defense will be ok eventually once they get healthy, though a stud pass rusher could certainly take them to the next level.

Gabbert is a nice dude but fuk he's bad.

I haven't noticed them playing that poorly. Their run game could use some work and Cards have a tough D line and pretty good blitzing. They let a few more sacks than they what we'd like but overall I don't think they have been that bad, certainly not why were losing. They have been miles ahead of last year, but that isn't saying much.

Ugh…Gabbert just cost me 6 points in my money league too and I need all the points I can get this week with my opponent having a stacked team.

Nice play there by the D but too little too late.

Also saw Kap was out the locker room rather quickly tonight, wonder if that had anything to do with frustration about not playing or him just not giving a ****.

Is Kaep not 100% or is Chip just not starting him. Don't see any possible explanation why Gabbert should continue to start.

I still don't think it'll be vs the Bills. My guess us he plays the Bucs at home.

Niners been my second team (unless they're playing vikes lol) but man you guys honestly like Kelly at all? The guy is a plague on the past 2 teams hes been on… Gabbert has looked like arse, think hyde was ahead of him in yards at one point… Hyde and Kerley have been the brightest spots in the offense but without a decent thrower its all pointless :\ Honestly cant stand Kelly lol, came into Philly with a damn good team and straight dismantled them. Looks like the niners arent far behind…

I put more blame on Baalke than I do on chip. We didn't have them winning more than six, with Gabbert and a debilitated defense we'd be lucky to get four.

Gabbert is hot garbage but quite honestly if Kelly wasnt so blind he would've pulled him by half time. At this point hes more then surely not playing kaep cause of all the political stuff…

Hyde is thriving that he is, some bright spots on the offense thats a given but he has to eventually see that Gabbert isnt the man for the job, hes a back up at best… and that's even not a forsure thing. Sadly the Defense cant hold for long if Gabbert just over throws his wide open targets… that Bolden pass was very cringe worthy, wouldve been 6 if that pass is caught in stride

Kelly is not the problem. If we had a capable QB we'd put some points up last night. The overthrow to Streater should have been a TD. Celek dropped pass ruined a drive. Gabbert's inability to throw the ball downfield is really hampering the offense. Its time to move on from Gabbert as much as it pains me to say he will always be a backup.

I'd be shocked if Kap doesn't start the next game.

im all for starting a new qb, but the fact that its kap is… lolworthy. I'll give it 2 games in before folks once again see how bad of a qb kap is. So instead of dealing with gabbys under/over throws, we'll see kap operate 1/3 of the field since thats all he sees.

Our QB situation is terrible and we're beyond fukd

Well clearly you have an agenda against Chip and that's fine but what are you talking about? He's been on just one NFL team before getting the 49ers job and the Eagles were 4-12 the year before he took over. He took them to two 10-6 seasons before last season's collapse.

There's also something about a guy getting fired. Bill Belichick didn't exactly light the world on fire in his first stint as HC and the Pats went 5-11 his first season there and that was with a pretty successful QB in Drew Bledsoe and a team that was in the SB 4 years prior and in the playoffs 2 years prior.

Now I'm certainly not saying Chip Kelly is Bill Belichick, Bill had a proven track record of being a fuking defensive wizard as an NFL coordinator but the analogy should still make the point that it's silly to judge a guy from one team to another and totally different situations.

It remains to be seen if Chip Kelly still thinks his chit don't stink and he thinks he can get anyone playing at a high level and doesn't care how many snaps his defense plays etc…

Right now the issue with this team is talent. Part of that is injuries - the WR group took a big hit with Bruce Ellington and Eric Rodgers getting hurt and Smelter never recovered from his injuries.

The biggest issue is obvious though - QB. I can't even imagine what's going through Torrey Smith's head right now.

Defense is pretty much injuries and youth. I don't buy that the hurry up offense(which isn't even hurrying that much here) is the issue since they've given up plenty of big plays/drives early in the games when they're not tired.

Armstead not being 100%, Ian Williams being out, Buckner being out now, Bowman getting hurt, Armstrong getting hurt, Ward hurt, youth all over the secondary and no Aaron Lynch til this game and 0 pass rush is not a good look.

This team needs a legit QB. Once we have that everything else will fall into place and Chip Kelly may get closer to Belichick than Jim Tomsula. There's no question the guy is intelligent and knows football, the question is whether he learned from his mistakes with the Eagles and if he can find that fine line between ******* and winning. If you're winning and you're an ******* nobody cares. If you're losing and you're an *******…then you're just an *******.

Baalke needs someone to act as a co-GM when it comes to drafting offensive skill players.

Part of the struggles are just due to guys fuking us over because of things no GM can control.

Aldon Smith going full AA was devastating. Dude was on a HOF track before hitting the bottle and his first suspension. If he kept off the sauce and kept playing at that level this defense would still be dominant with Aaron Lynch on the other side of him.

Anthony Davis retiring twice screwed us too, more so last year but still it kept a roster spot away from someone who may have actually helped. Bruce Miller for that matter added to that chit this year too, fuking idiot couldn't have gone on his bender two days prior?

And of course Kaepernick letting the early success go to his head and not developing the way he should was the worst thing because we just never really addressed the position and the first time we did we couldn't even keep that guy on the roster.

The one time Baalke tried to go heavy on offensive skill players in the draft it was one of the worst drafts in franchise history and really the one draft that killed us. Same draft that allowed Seattle and Denver to add some key pieces to their franchise.

He may have to fall on the sword this year if we keep looking bad but there's no question he's done some really good things. He's done a great job drafting DBs and outside of last year he's done a great job of finding key free agents and usually at cheap contracts. Kerley trade was great, Boldin trade was obviously great.

I think Baalke would've pulled a trigger on a QB this year but they went before we were on the clock…this is why I want us to lose out this way there are no excuses. We need to find our guy and the rest of the team will improve.

Baalke definitely needs help with QB and WR evaluations but at the same time it's hard to grade him when he really hasn't spent many draft picks on those positions early. AJ Jenkins was an obvious failure but that was late first round and probably one time we reached for need(you can make a case for Garnett as well but we'll see)

********@PFF_Mike

49ers CB Rashard Robinson looking more and more like the real deal. Only 11 yards allowed on 31 coverage snaps tonight.

Thankfully we did get this guy! Hopefully he continues to get better. And once again I say Brock sucks and when Ward is back both him and Robinson need to start.

I won't lie that would be pretty funny… At this point I do not care what happens. We know we get a better draft pick if we get chit on the rest of the season. So we mind as well have fun with it.

Seriously guys stop with the Harbaugh chit.

It's a dead horse that's not going to change. Harbaugh wasn't going to fix anything unless you think his presence would've kept Justin Smith, Patrick Willis, Chris Borland and Anthony Davis from retiring and keep Aldon Smith from getting drunk or Kaepernick from sucking.

This team went through an offseason that no team experienced prior and one that's really impossible for GMs to prep for.

Jim Harbaugh on this team doesn't change a thing and you can tell teams were getting very familiar with what we were doing on offense. He refused to change what he was doing because it worked before…that's not a great quality in a coach either. Best thing for him was to go to college where by the time players get bored of his rah rah act.

A legit QB can definitely fix this team. It's hard to play inspired football when you know your signal caller is just not getting it done. Any momentum the defense may get goes out the window when you see your starter miss wide open throws.

The defense has it's core players in place. They just need to get healthy for next season.

The offense isn't sexy but with a competent QB this offense is more than capable.

WTF? It appears they restructured Kap's contract. I am looking for the details. If anyone finds them post away…

For the record that is a good thing. That way if he sucks as much as Gabbert they can get rid of him. Also I would rather see Kap out there right now instead of Gabbert. Also it is safe to say that the upper management probably had something to do with Gabbert starting for so long, and Chip's hands were tied.
