True but the team has also been a dumpster fire from top to bottom for the last 2 years. How much of that is on Kaep is yet to be seen, I rather find out than keep playing Gabbert and continuing to get the same result.

the only benefit we can get this season is to keep losing for a higher draft pick.

Happy that I no longer have to watch Gabbert play QB, think the Garnett for Tiller switch is random, and overall pissed cause the Giants bullpen just blew our season.

i think the Garnett move has alot with sundays gameplan, tiller has been a liability in the running game where garnett was drafted as more of a run blocker. im expecting alot of running with hyde and kaep come sunday.

Not sure how I feel about Kap starting. I dont like him so let me get that out the way. I dont like him kneeling for the anthem and I think he can go about raising awareness for his cause in a much better way. Thats a whole another topic and I wont bore you with my opinions. Now with that said I will not be rooting against him. I root for all 49ers and thats just who I am.

I was a Blaine guy but he proved that he is just a backup QB. He had every opportunity to play better and he just didnt. He was too inconsistent with his throws which is maddening. He could make an accurate throw 15 yards down the field and the miss big on wide open throws which could have gone for touchdowns. Couple that with him not throwing the ball past the sticks on 3rd down and Ive had enough.

I think Kap will force the ball down the field more and Id expect more picks bc he will be forcing the ball in tighter coverage then he did back in his prime. I also expect more sacks as his pocket awareness isnt that great. So probably more of the same output from the QB but with a different flavor.

If we had better QB play at the beginning of the year we still probably would have a losing record. Maybe we would be 2-3 or at best 3-2 instead of 1-4 as we are now. We are a bad team and until we can stop the run I dont think a QB change will change the overall outcome of the game.

One thing I do look forward to is putting this Kap situation behind us once and for all this year. He has his chance to prove all of us wrong.

Honestly I wish they waited til after the Bills game. I had a great matchup with Gabbert playing that Bills D in my money league. Still think it's a good matchup but Kap is an unknown to teams in this offense. Gabbert was a sure thing.

I hate feeling this way but I just want to get to the draft already. I don't trust any QB on this roster long term. I think they're all proven bad solutions.

So apparently Garnett may not be starting, I'm not sure I would just put him in randomly when Tiller has been good. I think the OL play has been definitely good enough so not sure why they would want to mess with it. I don't think playing Garnett would be much of a difference either way, that's why I don't get the move if they end up making it.

I'm interested to see what Kap provides, also think it's interesting cause Ryan's blitz a lot and Kap at least lately has looked frantic when blitzed. Him playing definitely adds a level of excitement to watching this game but I still don't have high hopes, at least not until he plays and proves whether he can be good again.

Off topic but Niners related, I would recommend the new Steve Young Football life to all you. It was a solid 1 hr to watch and learn more about him and his thoughts about his life/career. His ability to run and throw is what we all wish Kap could be like. The Bill Walsh one is great too probably a little better than Young's the the Young one is worth the watch too.

I thought about and I want no part in garopollo. Everyone who does business with the patriots gets fleeced. They're the goat talent evaluators they would only get rid of him if they know he's a product of a system and not that good.

They drafted him in the 2nd round and he was a highly regarded prospect before they took him, this isn't Matt Cassel who had no film on him save for some mop up duty and a late round pick which shocked everyone that he was even drafted. Garopollo is a legit talent who is helped by learning from those guys. It's not a product of a system if someone can make accurate throws, read defenses and show good decision making and pocket presence. That translates to any system.

Plus they wouldn't be trading him because he's a product of the system, I'm certain they'd love to hold onto him as long as they can but he'all be free agent after 2017 season. They can't franchise him or pay him starter money when Brady is still playing at a high level so they may as well get something for him before he leaves for nothing but a comp pick.

I think he'll have a decent game. He'll have some rushing yards, hope he takes care of the ball. Different offense so it's difficult to predict how he'll play.

I would have preferred he played his fist game Vs the Bucs.

Game day..

I am 50/50 on how kap will play today. Part of me thinks he may ball out and then the other part thinks nothing will happen. First game back for him so I am not sure what to expect.

If he is actually completely healed from his surgeries, he will ball out to keep the starting job.

Sounds like he took a 7.5 million insurence policy on himself before the new contract was finished. He is smarter than I thought.

Now with that I hope they run him into the ground.

Interesting I heard Dial taking over at NT with the Oregon bros on the sides. Happy cause Purcell wasn't playing good. Also it looks like Garnett is starting, at least warming up with the 1s. Also the new WR Martin is active along with the new CB we signed and Vance too so expect at least 1-2 drops from him.
