In a years time tech and growth could well bounce back but you don't know how low they'll get to before they do, and whether they'll return to these highs we see now
Bro you should just stop investing to be honest. Do you realize the market doesn't always go up? If you are not willing to take 50% drops in your stock you shouldn't own it. You should be happy it drops, that means stocks are cheaper to buy of your favorite companies. Would you cry if your favorite hamburgers dropped in price 50 percent? Lol

actually of some other stocks i owned, i bought more today

the issue i have is with tech and moreover growth/IPO plays - which were never really part of my strategy, i just hopped on the wagon at the last moment. made some money, then lost it when it went sour a few weeks ago

they have swung completely out of favour and im not planning to face an uphill battle for the next year for them to swing back into favour. i'd rather take my money and put it elsewhere/not lose more of it

just because we 'like' a company, doesn't mean the market does, or that its a sensible decision. i like netflix, i watch it every day. but im not buying that.

if inflation is here to stay, then companies which aren't making profit are gonna get wrecked. and those surprise surprise, those are mostly concentrated in tech and growth sector

i dont want to take losses on anything, and i dont need the money now. but i also have to think sensibly - is it going to keep going down, and will it recover to the price i bought it at

the market generally is overvalued atm and most of that is concentrated in the nasdaq which saw unprecedented gains last year.

These are just my tech positions. Also down on other stuff today in the bloodbath
Do me a favor. Write down your buy and sell prices and save those somewhere. Then set a reminder for December. Then share what it would’ve looked like had you held

im planning to do that lol srs

but im also gonna write down my reasoning and logic for selling now and i'd probably forgive myself in a years time because to me it seemed like a good decision.

it isn't impulse. ive been sitting on these losses and theyre increasing. which was half the problem. had i set tight stops the never would have snowballed this far

you seem emotional. Better to just buy an ETF or a lower volatile stock like WMT, or Realty Income. That way you maintain conviction if it goes lower. If you understand the fundementals and valuation and future outlook you will be comfortable buying more when it goes lower.

Tesla / Elon just ran pump and dump but SEC be like nothing to see here.

BTC started tanking before Elon made twitter post.

Watch Tesla turn this around and start their own coin, I wouldn't believe word that Elon is done with crypto garbage.

ARK funds believe in bitcoin and crypto hence they have been buying COIN like lunatics its slowly going to be their top 5 holdings.

^^ I don't know if there's any creating a crypto that *only* runs on renewables or whatever

The ESG side of crypto has been getting a lot of attention lately though. I watched something from Kevin O'Leary a week ago where he was talking about his big institutional Clients and how, if they ever thought about entering the crypto space, they want to know the legacy of coins they buy and transact with.

Apparently they can actually identify when and where specific crypto units were mined and where they've been since via the blockchain ledger system, everything is recorded and transparent. So if they look into the origins of a bitcoin unit and see it was mined in China in an area that was predominately using cheap coal power, they're not dealing in that unit.

They also mentioned "certified" units that have clean histories and how that will become a bigger deal because who knows how many directions this could go in. If they start linking specific units to money laundering and any number of other activities criminals use crypto for, it could become an even bigger issue. The institutions will only be interested in certified coins coming out of some California crypto mine powered by the sheer good will of greenie activists and that have only traded hands between other like-minded organizations.

ESG will soon begin running contrary to its own movement's interests IMO. I'm still waiting for countries to look at mining their own rare earths and such for batteries to remove dependence on China and how that will clash with environmentalists who don't want mines in their back yards and indigenous lands, because those mines are no better in the immediate term than any number of fossil fuel extraction projects even if they save emissions over the long term. We're just getting started here.

AMC getting flooded on wsb comments

what a move congratz who got in.

hopefully you guys got calls and not shares since AMC is shorted so much it can easily go below $10 in snap.

80K sell wall at $12.2 probably stalls there.

if SPY can break $310 resistance it can retrace to $315 here.

The volume though.. I thought it would stall at 12.10 for a while. I’m expecting a pull back at 12.20 but not for long.
