They are unique, which is good. I like many, not most. They seem to be high quality. I used to own the Headwind and loved it. The comment about "highly polished" is correct, especially on the bracelet. I wore my Headwind on a custom gator. The bracelet looks awesome until it get's scratched, which takes about a week.

I dont really understand why there is even an argument. If you actually look at the pricing then you would realize OMEGA doesnt actually compete with ROLEX anyways.

OMEGA is a fine brand in its own right. They just chose a different direction than ROLEX. Doesnt make them better or worse. They arent really to be compared in terms of prestige or recognition either since their price segments are totally different.

Case in point: Daytona vs Speedmaster Pro
All you have to do is compare the market price for new or used of these 2 models and the conclusion is obvious.
Now Im not saying 1 is better than the other (sure i have a personal bias), but its obvious they dont compete with each other in the market place.

Even the seamaster (non-chrono) vs the sub or sea-dweller.
the price of the rolex is almost triple. even if you took a new seamaster PO chrono and compared it to the sub or seadweller, the rolex is still 50% more expensive

OMEGA does not compete directly with Rolex. They never meant to. Come to think of it, I cannot think of any brand at all that competes directly with Rolex in terms of offering/price standpoint.

So this is really a pointless argument.

That is all true, and still I would put them closer to the Rolex end of town than the Tag end (of course it sits somewhere in the middle).

Very true.

Off on somewhat of a tangent, I would love, love, love for someone to post a watch with as good of a fit as a Rolex sub for under $10,000. Crown action, bezel action, bracelet and clasp fit are all miles ahead of omega, and their prices reflect that.

You obviously don't know your watches. Omega now has ceramic bezel models of the sea master and the DSOTM. They have been aggressively expanding their product range and prices over the last decade. They compete with Rolex though they are way underneath in terms of quality and reliability.

Your very lack of awareness in your post speaks volumes about the types of watch people in this thread. If you do not know your watches, don't be a fool.

This is why young people get disrespected. Coz you guys are clowns.

Did I not read Patek in the thread title. This thead is full of wannabe high-end watch owners who know nothing out of old models and secondary market.

It hurts eh?

2. pathetic

ceramic bezel….WOW!!!!

do you even know what compete means? you just said they are below rolex in terms of quality and reliability. that plus the fact that they are literally 1/4 to 1/2 of the price of their rolex counterparts, how can you call them competitors?

does corvette compete with ferrari?

lmao….gtfo you clown

edit: your arms look liek sht btw. and since you have your shirt on, i can also deduce you have no visible abs. clearly you dont know anything about working out so you shouldnt workout at all. amirite?

If there is one thing I know it's vintage geezer. Just check out my own collection on Instagram. Own around 30pieces ATM.

Mate, I have flipped over 200 watches and Kaba has flipped probably closer to 400 now. Your opinion truly doesn't hold any value old man.
We have members with AP, PP, Breguets, I have owned two Vacherons, Kaba has as well. Our resident old man with the cute daughter ( sorry man I remember those vacation shots ) has more than a couple Panerais. And Subs and Daytonas aren't the exceptions.

They all agree, Omega > TAG. Heck i'd rate Longines and Tissot higher than TAG.
Omega doesn't compete with Rolex. If you need to find a direct rival it would be Tudor as soon as they roll out their in-house movements on all their pieces.

The Swatch group is positioning Omega there with good reason. They have their other brand to go at it with Rolex in the top-end. (Blancpain f.e.)

Lol, an entire thread disagrees with Aleeboy yet of course he knows something we don't!

Aleeboy, share your collection! I'm expecting to see many TAG pieces in your collection? Seeing that TAG are better than Omega and Omega compete directly with Rolex!

"Resident Old Man" love it. And, forget my daughter. ;-) You forgot about the Grand Seiko, Blancpain, I've had 9 Panerai, 11 Omega's, 5 Sinn's, 4 IWC's, several Breitlings, countless Seiko's and probably 15 micro's, 0 Rolex… I just know what I like. And, that's about all that matters. Alee is just a poser troll. Too many of them lately.

The stupidest argument Ive ever read. Take that to WUS and youd all be steamrolled.

"Omega isnt trying to compete with Rolex", they set up Omega boutiques styled just like Rolex. If that isnt trying to aggressively compete then I dont know what it.

"Omega is on par with TAG" hopefully just posting that to get a kick out of angry replies.

"Omega is in the middle between TAG and rolex" are you an idiot? The difference between Omega and Rolex finishing is equivalent to the difference between 99% and 100%. If you dont recall up until recently rolex bracelets were complete crap and omega was well praised as quality and comfortable to wear. Movement wise, rolex is in-house but they're still very basic movements. Theyre basic tool watch movements. Omega has actually been doing some very interesting things with their movements recently like with the PO 8500 movement.

I admit apart from the moonwatches not much else from omega interests me right now, but to say theyre well below rolex's level or they are not a competitor with rolex is absurd. Maybe their models dont have direct head on competition with rolex models e.g. sub vs po, etc, but the competition is there.

Very stupid statements were made here today is all I can say.
