It's not pretty but it may be already better than what we started with last year. Hopefully the coaching helps and I'm certain we'll address OL in the draft as soon as tomorrow.
Beadles!! Thank you I couldn't remember his name. All I could think about was bugs.

We couldn't stop the run and couldn't rush the QB. I'm happy with the pick.

Like Genus said, this (Staley, Beadles, Kilgore, Tiller, Brown) isn't that bad, better than last year at least. And I'm sure it'll still be addressed in the other rounds.

Why are people bashing the 49ers pick just because it's an Oregon player and Chip Kelly drafted him?

Does that guy suck?

Who's bashing the pick? Buckner is a prototype 3-4 DE who is more pro ready than Armstead and arguably with equal or greater athletic ability and size.

Dude had 10.5 sacks last year and plays the run well. It was a perfect fit.

This is from PFF

San Francisco 49ers: DeForest Buckner | Grade: A+ A perfect fit for the 49ers' 3-4 scheme, DeForest Buckner reunites in San Francisco with former Oregon teammate Arik Armstead. Buckner was our top-graded interior defensive lineman in 2015, leading the nation with a +43.8 pass rush grade and ranking eighth against the run at +29.8. Perhaps just as impressive, he led the nation with 951 snaps and still kept up his incredible production. Buckner's a disruptive presence, capable of pushing the pocket, winning with his hands and adding excellent range in the run game to make plays. Buckner is the No. 2 player on the PFF Draft Board and the 49ers got a steal at No. 7 overall.

Really the only bad thing i've seen people say about Buckner is that he's from Oregon and that's why Kelly took him.

It's unfortunate that Anthony Davis is a giant ******* cuz the run on tackles is crazy. 4 OTs selected by 16.

I'd like to grab Joe Haeg later or Young out of Auburn late and try to coach them up. Garnett or Whitehair are guys to target tomorrow. Ryan Kelly will probably be drafted within the next 10 picks otherwise he'd be a great one to look at.

If we didn't draft Buckner earlier I'd be looking for us to trade up for Vernon Butler here.

Draft is far from sh*t but I don't get why we traded up for Garnett. I think we could've had him no problem with our next pick.

Makes sense though. Garnett was the highest grade run blocker coming out. Chip likes to run the ball.

Also look at the dlines in the West. Nasty. We are building through the trenches which is the right way to build.

Arizona is going to be scary. Seattle may need to go OL or Wilson may die.

FUK YES!

All I wanted was for us to draft some bad ass mofo's on the O-line/D-line in the early rounds and instead we trade back into the 1st round to get an Iupati replacement along with another stud D-lineman.

Great draft is great, so far. =)

Do some of you really not want Kap back? I really want to see how he does in Chip's offense. I think Chip pretty much runs Kap into the ground this season to see if he's truly done or not. But I guess I'm in the minority.

seems like the hawks were interested to get garnett, so it was wise for them to trade up and get their guy

So do I. But I don't think last year was a good way to decipher whether he's a lost cause or not. That's why I want him badly in this team for at least one more year. If he dies he dies.

From what I read, both the Cardinals and the Seahawks were targeting Garnett. The guy looks like he can really move for someone his size, which will come in handy with screens.

We took the highest rated run blocker and at the same time prevented him from going to our rivals, i'd say it was a great first round.
