It's probably not going to be that bad honestly...
-girls shooting ghosts
-some bad CGI
-some forgettable jokes

...however it is not going to be good either. At best it could have been become a nice hommage to the original with some feel good moments. That is really the best they could hope for. There is no possibility something like this becomes an iconic movie.
A franchise with as many fans and an elaborated universe as Star Wars can do somthing like this. Ghostbusters not so much.

Please Hollywood stop making dumb remakes to rely on old franchises and come up with a new idea.

"Our Ghostbusters Review: Girls Rule. Women Are Funny. Get Over It."

Reviewers can't even jump into the article itself before being condescending. They spit that social justice battery acid right in your face from the title of the review. Seems to me like a good chunk of the positive reviews are saying things like "The movie's pacing sucks and it leans too heavily on the original despite the fact it disregards it entirely, but the main cast is just so refreshing and fun!" It's more sexist to pat the people on the back like it's a good movie than to call a turd sandwich a turd sandwich. How is recasting the Ghostbusters as female some sort of great victory, by the way? "This will allow women to get bigger roles." It takes all types for movies. There's plenty of female lead actresses, the first ever being in 1968's Night of the Living Dead.

Anyway I wrote a non-review if anyone wants to read paragraph after paragraph of anti-SJW ranting.

Well, looks like Ghostbusters is going to lose out on the China market. But considering the first 2 movies never released there I don't it would've brought in what they need to break even.

"Ghostbusters Not Submitted For China Release Yet, Sony Says"
http://deadline.com/2016/07/sony-gho...se-1201786088/

The Chinese Film Bureau is pretty strict with certain criteria that will deem a movie banned, specifically anything they interpret to promote cults or superstition, or involves ghosts and spirits.

...and bloggers are already saying it's because China is anti-gay.
