It's just so bad. It makes no sense whatsoever. Remove a hole, add an extra accessory and remove the ability to listen to music whilst charging (unless you hate yourself even more and buy those shiitty air pod things). The phone isn't thinner for it. There's just no reason for it... But the cucks will still lap it up.

Yes, cause an iPhone could surely power those headphones. Strong knowledge. A 3.5mm jack isn't for high end headphones. I wouldn't connect anything above 32ohms to an iPhone. The iPhone is great for sensitive ear buds, and that's what I use it for.

And if you think high end headphone makers will move towards lighting.... son. 1/4" headphone jack is here to stay. 3.5mm jack isn't going anywhere.

And the ear pods sound like absolute chit. I feel sorry for people who only have those to listen. Meanwhile my Senn HD700 are putting a smile on my face every time

I like Apple stuff, but this is a silly move. And if the 7S or 8 re-introduces that 3.5mm jack in response to everyone being mad at it being removed, then they'll cause just as much anger because everyone will have gone out and bought expensive new stuff to use on the 7.

My poor old 5S is on its last legs, I think I'll buy a 6S. Not wasting my time with the 7.

Tbh I have no knowledge of the Sennheiser 600s you brought up. Why even bring them up if they can't be used with phones when that's exactly what we're discussing?

I'm not seeing the issue... 3.5mm isn't for high end headphones which you love so much, so why be butthurt they removed it? Manufacturers will make lightning headphones if there's a market (there is). In fact, they already have started. 3.5mm jack will disappear from the majority of phones over the course of the next few years. Digital > analog. All technology becomes obsolete eventually

#1 There is a big difference between "removing 3.5mm jack and replacing it with a new technology" and "removing 3.5mm jack and make phone users use an additional adapter"

Yes, i agree with you and other guy that in next ~5yrs or so (whatever the time limit will be) 3.5mm jacks will be gone because somebody will come up with something new/great/revolutionary.

To illustrate that wired headphones produce objectively better sound than any bluetooth can.

I think it was silly. Clearly they see the world isn't ready for the change otherwise they wouldn't have included the dongle. And they want to sell you outrageously priced $160 air pods that probably cost $20 to make and is made in China, and sounds like chit.

You realize that for $160 you can get far, far superior German made wired headphones like the Beyerdynamic dt 990, which is actually cheaper last I checked?

The problem is the headphone geeks are like <1% of the population particularly because a good set up is expensive. I'm right there with you man, I'm a huge audiophile. I think it's a strategy to turn Apple into a monopoly. Apple could release the iphone 4 again and brand it as the iPhone 8 and people would still line up for it that's how much power they have. I don't know what Apple is thinking to be honest but it still pisses me off that the iPhone 7 is still a very incremental update. I really see no use for the new thunderbolt bull**** jack. They don't even have wireless charging yet wtf? If anything the future of cellphone should not be a new Apple specific interface, rather a means to massively increase battery life and have advanced wireless charging capabilities everywhere so we never have to really worry about charging our devices. This is what happens when you hire someone with no innovation and who is a ******* in the both literal and figurative sense heading the company. Steve jobs would have been seizing had he been alive to see his company run the way it is. Apple is making more money than any company by innovating less it's absolutely ridiculous. They've got people literally addicted to their products but if they keep this up they'll end up crashing and burning. They are lucky Samsungs Note 7 had a battery issue. The only thing that apple surpasses it's peers in right now is Reliability and build quality. Never had a single issue with any of my MacBooks or iPhones. That can't be said for any android or windows products I currently own or have owned in the past.

when I preordered my iPhone 7 the woman at the store told me that the phone came with the wireless ear buds

I opened up the apple site and showed her what the phone came with and she started freaking out and said they told all the sales people that they were coming with them and that they've been telling everyone that lmao

The G1 and most android phones had the mini USB connector (GOAT port) until manufacturers switched to the flimsy azz micro-usb, and are now looking forward to switch over to USB-C, where the Note7 is already equipped with (which i believe would be best of all)

I'm still an HTC fanboy at heart.

owned mostly HTC up until the M9 was announced, I was dissapointed with its specs so I hopped over to the galaxy S6. I wanna go back to HTC, but I don't like the fact that they don't have physical buttons back/settings butons anymore..
