I'm in the camp that thinks a female thor is retarded, Black Iron Ma..Woman/Maiden is puzzling and a female Wolverine makes no sense because these are characters and not what I consider to be a "mantle" that they can take up and continue on with the legacy.

But the beauty of this is end of the day these are all stories, stories change, stories evolve .. Some for the better, some for the worse. People need to have the creative license to change things up and see what works and what doesnt because it keeps things fresh and gives you a new perspective. It's all about the risks and rewards and you never know if you might actually end up liking it.

When Bruce Wayne died and they had Night Wing take up the role of Batman that was one of my favorite runs and I was sad to see it end because Dick Grayson was such a good Batman and I loved him in the role and would have loved to see him be Batman for a few good years before they brought back Bruce again.
Honestly I can picture the female Thor, just give her an amazon/viking look like shown above, then give her a godly personality. The black female Iron Man makes no sense whatsoever. That whole design looks the total opposite of a tech/engineer wizard. A female wolverine is also pretty hard to pull off right, she'd have to be an ugly brute women who just likes to kill, but then who would want to see that as a leading character?

Where we ought to draw the line is with recasting historical characters.

A white MLK or a black Thomas Jefferson in a movie would be ludicrous, but mythology always leaves room for artistic freedom.
