It's from Conservation Mag, among all sites.

The negative comments are from the idea of trophy hunting, which many disagree with, no matter the benefits derived from it. Even some airlines banned shipping animal carcusses shipped from Africa. That's why it gets people riled up, on whatever site it may be.

I worked there personally and spent a considerable amount of time on the continent in the direct field being discussed here. If this was economics or computer related ****, I wouldn't have a comment because I would know that my knowledge base is low. In this case it's not.

Africa is corrupt. Game reserves are often corrupt. Regardless of corruption, the money to pay the scouts comes from somewhere. Where does it come from? Magical fairy trees? No, it comes from donations and hunting. The people who go there and drop big bucks are the reason that these places even exist and they pay the scouts to stop the poaching so there's something to hunt.

I saw this first hand.

It's not benevolent.

The people doing the big game hunts generally just want their trophy.

What's SUPPOSED to happen after:

-Scouts alongside the hunter carve the meat up
-Meat gets distributed
-Money goes towards reservation/conservancy, to the director, to the government (African government always requires bribes), towards the local council (same as above but smaller scale) and then the scouts

This happens all the time. If it's not organized, it's poaching and that's illegal.

man it would be ****in sick to find people who hunt like this by infiltrating their groups you could really do some ****ed up **** to them, i would definitely skin one alive, maybe burn a few with some low burning kerosene, keep one chopped up and let him die slow some real ****ed up ****

It goes to the tribal leader as a bribe (to allow the hunting permit) and then to pay the director, professional hunter, safari guides, etc. It also goes towards the scouts.

The last time a thread like this really blew up (a few years ago) I had people threatening to kill me, sending me PM's threatening my life (srs) and all sorts of ****. It's crazy how retarded people get about crap they don't understand. I put my ass on the line (FOR FREE) to stop the poaching in the area I was in. I almost died about 5-6 times, one of which was so close that I thought it was 100% that I wasn't going to make it out. And then when I post about some of the details of how poaching/counter-poaching works, I get told I'm coping or get people threatening to kill me. Lmao. Misc gonna misc.
