Had about a minute of totality, definitely cooler than expected. Viewing the sun with the glasses were underwhelming, so anyone not in the path I can see why it would be boring..

But inside the path wow. As soon as you can't see with the glasses you look up at the naked sun and it looked like a diamond ring, and you can see the 3D surface of the moon, kind of like a big eye is looking down on you.

Heading home now, definitely want to see this again, with a telescope for the next one.

"I wish it happened every week!" - my kid

Told her she will be in high school for the next one. That one will have totality in Ohio for 3 minutes.

We were fortunate with clear skies and someone shared their glasses with us. Will see if we have any good pics when we get back to our room.

Tailgated with friends and family. The visual aspect of it didn't really do much for me but the vibe and feeling of it were way more than I expected. Honestly it was a little creepy as it got darker but when totality hit it was, for me anyway, somewhat of a transcendental experience. Not really a good way to describe it other than the universe seems to shrink and there is definitely a presence in everything. I think time seemed to change as well....kind of similar to some of the substances I've had before in some ways. Definitely considering heading out to the middle of the country in seven years. Only had slightly over a minute in totality but didn't fight traffic and hung with friends. Next time I'd definitely be willing to travel farther and deal with more traffic to get that extra minute in totality though.

Glasses were somewhat cool but not anything special(for me anyway). I'd definitely be willing to travel to Ohio for 3 minutes though since I'll have to travel pretty far either way. I don't know if anyone has seen Big Fish, but there's scene when he first sees his true love and time slows down to an almost stopped pace. Then once time starts again it moves in fast forward to catch back up. I kind of got that feel as the totality seemed to pause the universe, but once it was over everything was incredibly crowded and fast paced.

That looks like a painting/art work and would look awesome if printed on canvas and then hung on the wall --- great shot.

If you were in the path of totality when you looked you are fine.

I'm not sure what you can get from watching on tv. I guess it would be pretty cool, but as I go back to watch videos of the eclipse and totality it doesn't even come remotely close to doing it justice. Not even a millionth of the impact seeing it in the sky.

Edit to add after reading post above- I guess it basically just comes down to the person. It was incredibly awe-inspiring for me but it seems others would've preferred to spend their time doing other things. I'm definitely glad I didn't miss it though.

Totality here. Seemed to get real calm with feeling like dusk setting in quick. Street lights kicked on. When totality hit and you could take off the glasses and there is just a black circle with light protruding around it with a bright sky still looked awesome. Then you could watch as everything was getting brighter.

We lucked out too. It was cloudy and raining this morning and then we hit a clear patch right when it was happening. Not but 5 minutes later clouds rolled in again and we got hit hard with pouring down rain and flash flood warnings in the area.

We, my son, grandson and I decided to drive the 40 minutes into The Zone Of Totality.
We left about 30 minutes before the eclipse was to start. Traffic was normal on the way to The Zone Of Totality.

We were just inside the northern edge here in Oregon.
Totality lasted about 45 seconds maybe 1 minute.

It didn't get totally dark more like dusk. The temperature noticeably get cooler as the sun disappeared behind the moon.

Now to watch the live feed I recorded on the Science channel..
She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.
