Residents told to shelter in place. Place floods. Owner calls for help...told YOLO. Owner send pic to family remembers. Pic goes viral so national guard came in and rescued the grandma's and grandpops.

It's very sad. I saw this yesterday.
But I have to admit, I laughed a little when I saw that lady with the red thing in her lap. She's like "frack this, I'm continuing my knitting!"

Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lie.

I also have a 4 year old myself and i've just begun nursing school. The plan is to find a place IN TOWN for her to go to and I'll visit frequently and pop in and to make sure she's being taken care of adequately, might even put a hidden camera in her room.Totally
I pray I've left my family enough money that they can put me into a retirement home when I'm old and a danger to myself. Can't imagine the shame of having to have my children or grandchildren watch me 24/7 so I don't burn the house down or wander off. Would be even worse if they had to bathe me or clean me up because I chit myself.
No fkn thanks. I'll spare my family that

But in this situation if I knew my grandma was in the flood area I would have taken off work and gotten her TF out of there.

What's more disturbing than that picture is all the (presumably) white people itt who are more triggered at hearing that some people left their dogs behind than people leaving their parents to rot in a nursing home during a flood. Never change guys. This obsession with dogs in western society so much so that a dog seems to have more value than a human is messed up.

Put the damn cameras down and help. If you can leave an animal to die or a child to die and not do anything but take a photo, you're not a real human being. Like I said, some % of people are just garbage.

Besides, the cameraman can't save every kid suffering everywhere in the world, but he can make ALL of us aware of it. Without these photos, none of us would even know this type of inhumanity exists.
