Lol at BJJ. Fighting street fights on the floor is extremely dangerous. Most brahs will kick your face in If they see you choking out their boi. Ay lmao

Lol at street fighting as an adult tho. Trashy as fuk
This but don't neglect the effect of a brutal leg kick from a person that knows how to throw one.

Land one good leg kick and you can more or less walk away from the fight.

Best part is that you are way less likely to have trouble with the law if you leg kick a rando. Punch a guy in the head just right and you could be looking at charges.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.

This. A good leg kick is extremely painful. Also same concept a body kick, a good one lands and its good night.

Also you referenced that same video the last time we had this discussion, the krav maga guy is obviously more fit and stronger, neither quality is exclusive to krav maga training. He's doing what every gas station clerks who had fended off robbers on YouTube had done, and they didnt need to pay for krav maga training to do it. A boxer who isn't afraid to scrap would have knocked that knife wielding dude out in the first exchange, as proven by many new articles detailing ex boxers delivering a world of hurt to armed burglars.

And no I don't take krav maga because I'm self aware of its efficacy. My first gym was krav/bjj/muay thai, and every day I see the krav guys doing the most ridiculous chit. I've been in enougbfights and heavy sparring to know how difficult it is to eyepoke, groin strike a resisting opponent. If you can't punch someone in the square in the face how do you have the speed or accuracy to even touch their eyes. For the average person krav maga is a game of make believe.

No offense I only ever see old people have this delusion. A hobbyist boxer or mma fighter will KO your sifu in under 1 minute I guarantee you
Then your opinion is based on ignorance and arrogance.

Again , if you knew anything about Krav Maga when you get to higher levels you do train with real weapons *not firearms but real knives and impact weapons* so to say that you don't get real experience is just pure ignorance . Also , there are two forms of Krav Maga , Military and Civilian and in the military you are trained to use your rifle as a cold weapon as well so they always have some sort of a weapon .

This is a real life attack ,boxing or MMA doesn't prepare you for this.

You are looking at violence through the prism of it starts off standing toe to toe , having words and then squaring off because I assume you are a sport fighter but like I said before , the reality of a violent attack isn't that . We are going to just have to agree to disagree I suppose .
so hard sparring with a mouth guard/headgear, going anywhere from 50-100% doesnt prepare you for that

but role playing choreographied movements prepares you for the real thing ? lollll, that video shows no martial arts skills, just some guy tiring out some crazy with a chair then jump on him when its safe to do so. i feel sorry for people paying $300 a month for kravmaga scam gyms, its essentially roleplay dirty mma. for 1/3 of that price there are many proper mma gyms that have bjj, proper muay thai, mma and fight teams in all those disciplines. some parents dont know any better

No mma doesn’t prepare you for a knife attack and that video accurately depicts what Krav Maga is , if you knew anything about the system you would see that .You are just like the other person , no knowledge on the subject other than what you read on the internet and what your mma coaches say who also have no clue what they are talking about .

I’ve said my piece , nothing left to be said .

only difference i actually trained in all the things ive spoken about (including krav maga).

theres no hard sparring in krav maga, how the fuk are you to get the counter attack timing right if you never practice anywhere near full speed ? its like practicing to play football but you only practice in slow motion, in a real football match youre getting raped.

in the video i didnt see any martial arts, he used a chair to hit some crazy twig, then jumped on him and choked him when it was safe. anyone can do that, unless youre telling me you need kravmaga for confidence reasons only ?

if its that legit then you should be comfortable to walk into any mma/kickboxing gym and sparr anyone without getting beat the fuk up, which is exactly whats gonna happen simply because you have no hard sparring experience

a lot of people in this thread are in for a rude awakening when they come across some aggressive kunts with knives or even clenched fists.

MMA is good but soon you will be saying MAMA not MMA. You will literally be crying for your mama

However boxing and BJJ seems the ultimate. I know those that say kickboxing is good but in a street fight even trained muay thai guys don't throw kicks, and if they do its rarely above the waist

Anyone with a brain would run away from someone with a knife. Clenched fists no. If someone is trained to hurt you in 16oz gloves you can be sure he can decimate you bare knuckles.
Yeah usually it's not advisable to throw high kicks in street fight but it's an overblown fear. Most people don't expect a kick, let alone one aims at the head. That's why in street fights you see head kicks are almost instant KO.

Probably MMA with a Judo heavy base. So you can use the full stand up with punches, elbows and low/oblique kicks (wouldn't want to kick higher in a street fight) but if they come into grappling range you can send them flying.
You don't want to go to the ground in the street but a good judo throw on concrete will most of the time end the fight right there. I was in two tussles and I don't know chit about punching but I managed to end the fight both of the time with a good throw to the pavement. One time it was a O Soto Gari and the other one was a Tai Otoshi throw. The O Soto Gari was quite dangerous for the guy because he didn't know how to breakfall or he didn't anticipated getting sweeped but he hit the concrete with the back of his head and was legitly ktfo'd. The Tai Otoshi one wasn't that bad but the guy didn't want any more of it as he realized there was some kind of martial art technique applied to him lol.

If you blind someone for a mere push then you're a fukkin retard who should be locked up anyway. When it comes down to him swinging at you and whatnot with clear intent to cause harm, that's when you blind them.

We 2002 now.

BTW for those dogging BJJ/grappling - you need it sometimes; think of being at a family event with a drunk Uncle that's kicking off - you can't just go and KO the dude!

What would be better would be taking him down and controlling him till he calms down and if needs be put him to sleep.

Lol you guys really bash each other arguing which art is better at street fighting?
It will not be based on what martial art you know but it will be based from how a person handles himself during this kind of situations.

Like what I asked above, how many of you have been in this situation?[ul]
  • Regardless of how much knowledge you have, the actual scenario of you facing someone with a knife or bat will test your composure.

  • The reality that you are in a disadvantaged situation facing someone who doesn't care about killing people.

  • Being worried about the possibility that this guy has someone with him who can jump you or fear of getting surrounded.

  • The chances of your strike not affecting him. Because this is possible, one guy I dealt with years ago was so drugged up that every time he fell down from a punch or kick, he just get back up and continue charging.

  • The feeling of your heart pounding out of your chest making it a bit harder to breath.

  • The actual reality that after a few exchanges, you are running out of breath because you failed to control yourself and your breathing and feels like you are gonna pass out.

  • [/ul]These are all the things that can happen to you all at the same damn time during a fight. So regardless of whether you have MMA, Krav Maga, TKD, boxing, etc knowledge, if you cannot bring yourself to properly use it, you will be swinging wildly against an opponent and forget everything that you learned.

I would say boxing first, judo second for 99% of impromptu fights. You want to stay on your feet in a fight so you can run away if you need to.

Being proficient in multiple arts is important imo. But BJJ for sure, since most fights go to the ground. I've done some muay thai but I train in TKD regularly and am an instructor, but I supplement it with judo and BJJ because TKD traditionally doesn't incorporate those elements.

So, get good at one, and then supplement it with other arts that make up for what that first style lacks.

Oh, and Haganah is pretty lethal too (Krav is included in Haganah).

Edit: just carry a gun; you can't out-Karate a bullet.

The only problem I have with TKD is that it's only good for winning tournaments and you have silly rules like:

    1. No punches to the face
    2. Can't attack the legs

Muay Thai + Judo is a better option.
