They begin to think that's smart or normal and chase that, which leads to significantly worse results for them on average. Yes I'm frustrated but only because of the harm posts like yours do.

2) They aren't wrong because they aren't "doing what I'm doing", they're wrong factually and statistically according to history and methods that other people devised. It isn't about me, but someone picking certain stocks themselves hoping for something like a 10k return on a 10k investment short term is much more likely to lose their ass than someone who researched things on a real investing forum like the one I said. It has nothing to do with them not "doing what I do" - it's that they're literally doing the wrong thing and it willmost likelyhurt them. Not always, but most likely.

Nobody knows where it will go but I am genuine with this warning lol. I'm super happy for those who made money but GUYS this roller coaster is going WAY too high.. I'm just worried for the few posters here who are over-invested, got a little excited, and don't know enough but deserve to do well. To them, my $0.02 is take your W and walk.

It's not about me why would I do that? This is overall strategy that professionals agree on and has nothing to do with me personally.

But if you're really curious I could, I made 23% in the last 12 months from index funds and over $80,000 in the last 12 months pure interest from it.

Big money selling off affects price. Every stock.

Just because companies have balance sheets and profit loss statements does not mean that the market is entirely predicated on what the big-time investors may or may not want to do. You're an idiot to think otherwise.

Some of the most technically sound companies with strong fundamentals can be bottomed out if big money wants them too.

It might. It might also hit $100k before popping though. I think at least a more immediate correction is incoming though.

It's literally just dependent on what value the populous as a shared collective ascribes onto it. I lean towards it rising as long as it's exposed to more and more of the population - right now futures just released, soon ETFs/funds may give it exposure to retirement and endowment markets.

I don't think the bubble is over just yet, assuming it's a bubble. But again, that's just my opinion.

You're correct, when big holders drop a stock, it affects the overall price.

But that's a completely different statement than the one the other guy made about Bitcoin that you quoted saying "welcome to every stock ever".

He said the majority coin holders can affect the price.

No chit... the big money majority shareholders can affect any stock they want to, too.

Could be true. For someone like you who I know is kicking ass financially, it's OK to gamble.

What worries me is the guys in here who don't really understand finances, putting way too much of their portfolio in bitcoin not understanding what reality is. Tons in this thread already lol.

It definitely could go way up. That being said, I've been alive for a few bubbles and even the other bubbles in their prime didn't have IG memes floating around and your grandma and uncle wanting to get in on it. It seems verrrrrry saturated with people who know nothing about it right now.

What he said is that bitcoin isn't going up because of generated value.
It's not going up because its generating value. It's going up becase a few own the majority of bitcoins and can use that to effect the market.
You said that's "every stock" and I was pointing out that's not true. Most stocks are going up because the company they represent is generating revenue.

Its just happening a lot faster than i predicted. BTC is going to 100k.
Some time in 2017 you said that bitcoin would be 10k within 5 years. Since we've already gone way past that, don't you think it's time for a big correction? I think we'll have a big one once tradeable futures start at the CME and big players start shorting it.

Why do you think everything needs a supporting value?

The market dictates it.

How much do you value cigarettes? The price you can buy them at the gas station.

What does an inmate value cigarettes? He'll probably let some guy **** him for one.

I can agree with that; I saw guys talking about withdrawing 401k, generating credit card debt and taking loans out to invest in other threads which is absurd. Whatever I invested, I can easily afford to lose.

That's a really extreme version. Nobody should do either of those even with normal index fund investments.

Even the less extreme versions though, guys in here who have 50% of their spare money in it... learn to take a win lol. Play it smart. Your younger years are the most important when it comes to getting rich.

If there is no logical reason to support it's valuation then the market is wrong and it is over valued, thats why. Just like stocks, and any investment can be over valued at times when the market gets it wrong due to hype and speculation from idiots. The market always eventually corrects itself. Inmates use cigarettes as money. In order for bitcoin to be used as money on a large scale it can not be so volatile. It's valuation needs to stabilize so we could compare the price of commodities relative to bitcoin.

Sure it probably will. Its going to be a volatile ride, but bitcoin is the future. If the price crashes, it doesn't change anything about the protocol itself. Once society truly understands bitcoin, then it will be worth a lot more than what it is today. Too many people in here are trying to valuate bitcoin but have not even read the source code. Ive held BTC through several crashes, the price does not matter to me. People should invest in what they truly believe in instead of listening to other people who read Finance For Dummies and think they know everything.

I agree bitcoin is superior in some ways, but gold is in others. There is no objective reason for bitcoin to have it's current valuation. When the masses and everyday people are getting into bitcoin that don't understand it, and it's valuation has gone parabolic in the past month, that's when you know it's a huge bubble and needa get out. It will crash, I don't think to zero, but to it's logical value slightly under gold.

Trading bitcoin for short term gains is risky but huge rewards. I'll hold gold and silver long term over bitcoin though. We are 8+ years in a bull market. Over due for a recession, when the economy goes south, bitcoin will be the first thing people sell, and it will crash.
Precious metals are inherently worthless, and like everything else, only worth what consumers are willing to pay for them. But they serve a greater purpose than just being used to make jewelry or industrial application, which is giving the US dollar value. Without gold and people willing to pay market value at $2500 an ounce, the dollar would be as worthless as the toilet paper you use to wipe your ass with.

That being said, I think the conspiracy that cryptocurrencies are actually created by world governments makes sense. World debt continues to increase, while the value of gold/silver continues to stagnate and the value of paper money continues to decrease every year. Printing more money to pay back national debts only exacerbates the inflation issue that may inevitably lead to one of the worst global economic depressions in the history of mankind. So why not create digital "coins" that exponentially increase in value over time and adopt it as feasible currency as more and more reputable parties recognize its legitimacy? As the creator of bitcoin you got in when it was cents on the dollar and thus hold the majority reserve in circulation. 5 years later, your initial 10 million dollar investment is worth over 100 billion and continues to rise exponentially as long as you make sure it stays unregulated and keep the hype train rolling.

Gold hasn't been used to give the US dollar value in over 40 years. Nixon took the US off the gold standard in the 70s. The dollar is a fiat currency. Meaning the government has declared it legal tender, but it is backed by no commodities. (gold)

Swear you guys just pull this stuff out your azz...

And gold has intrinsic value, it is not inherently worthless, even a dollar bill has SOME intrinsic value, maybe as toilet paper or firewood. Bitcoin has zero intrinsic value. It's only value is it's use as money.

โ€œEducated peopleโ€ have been saying bitcoin is finished for how many years now? Did they get it when it was cheap and cash out now itโ€™s near $20k? No? Instead they were calling it a scam or too scared to invest, so it shows how much they know right?

Iโ€™ve never heard of anyone putting their life savings into cryptos like you make it sound, seems like most people put what they can afford (low risk high reward) and the only thing people are gambling is what theyโ€™ve gained.

Honestly if you knew so much about this then you wouldnโ€™t have been on the sidelines watching.

This is what I don't think you understand.

Those educated people could have said all that, Bitcoin could have surprised them and returned 8,000% in a day. That doesn't mean that they are less educated and the guys who made 8,000% in a day know more than them.

I don't know why you don't get that but returns =/= educated and intelligence in investing.

Long term averages though.. those are a better indicator of knowledge.

Of course they don't know the future. You know, almost all the posters in here who support bitcoin have at least started to sound reasonable after a few posts lol. I can't make sense of your posts.

There's a certain method that time after time has proven to work the best for getting rich. Educated investors, and the majority of investors who study are aware of this fact.

Just because somebody speculated and bought something that by chance gave them a crazy return in a short period doesn't make them more knowledgeable than the educated guys who know what they are doing.

Does that make sense?

I can't go dump my life savings into a penny stock, watch it return 5,000% in a week and then point at the real educated guys and be like "Ha see I know more than you! What an idiot! You're missing out".

Let me know when this makes sense.

Investing cannot be predicted without insider info. No level of education can make sure you don't "Miss the boat" but there is a style of investing that does better than all the others on average.

I don't know why you don't get that but returns =/= educated and intelligence in investing.

Long term averages though.. those are a better indicator of knowledge.
these "educated" people tend to be over the age of 45 and not fully knowledgable about the tech behind the blockchain.

they never adapted when the time was right. instead, they decided to remain in their cozy little fiat bubble spraeding fear, uncertainty, and doubt to anyone who would listen.

not the type of person i want to listen to with my investment strategy.

I already said nobody here put their life savings in, they put in spare change and itโ€™s paying off. Iโ€™m not sure why youโ€™re getting so dramatic, basically listening to these experts are why youโ€™re missing out and now you want others to join your company lol

Lol what?

Just because they're the most educated on investing means they're over 45? That's completely false. How often do you actually visit that forum?

Also, hypothetically if that were true, why can't a 45 year old guy who's an avid investor understand this technology? If they were 45 and an educated investor, most of their returns have come from technology companies where they learned the business strategy and software behind it. Why couldn't somebody who's 45?

I think you're just making excuses to disregard their (more educated) opinion and justify your actions here. Good luck though man.

Even if crypto's are the future, what makes anyone think it's going to be bitcoin? You said yourself bitcoin is not the superior crypto, just the most well known.

It's like if a bunch of young millennials took out loans and invested in myspace because "its the future, old people just don't get it". Maybe they were right about social media being the future, but ******** overtook myspace, if you had invested in myspace you'd be broke.

Also in order for any crypto to be used as it's only use (money) it can't be so volatile, needs to have a stable value. When/if that ever happens it won't be worth investing in anymore anyways. So might as well learn to invest in something that pays dividends.

I agree, and in laymen terms, there are flash-in-the-pans and there are sustained success stories.

Many people will make money off Bit Coin, waste their earnings, and never have another successful investment in their lifetime. Not all, but some. That's why investors are measured on portfolios, and not singular investments.

Ultimately ask yourself do you have a pattern of success...

Lol I'm not missing out. Again, this isn't about me personally. I made double the annual average US salary purely in interest last year. I'm genuinely trying to help those who did more than "put spare change" in this and trust me, as much as you think for some reason that everyone in this thread only put "spare change" in that's also not true.

Oh well. I've explained everything, and more importantly I have a feeling you haven't read the threads I posted in the OP. If you do, you'll see that they're far more educated than the posters here on bitcoin.

Good luck and for the last time,if you have any money invested in bitcoin, just read those threads in the OP, it takes 10 minutes and you can still disagree with everyone there after reading it if you choose.
