Listen guys.. A lot (not all) of the Bitcoin thumpers around here do it with a cocky attitude and insult those who don't get in on it.

So, naturally, a big part of me wants to think "**** em" a fool will always be separated from his money. For all the cocky-ness, they deserve to lose it.

But.... even more important than that is that we're brothers on this forum, we should ultimately look out for each other.

We first have to admit that literally nobody knows where Bitcoin (or any blockchain applications) will go, it's all speculation (literally not even an investment) but the reality is it has all the signs of a giant bubble bound to pop.

My personal move, if you've made money on Bitcoin, I would get out right now. Could it rise another $10k before it pops? sure.. could it pop tomorrow? yes... but you could also go throw it all on black at the casino. You can't kick yourself for that. I would say take your win and walk away happy and proud.

Don't take it from the misc, if you have significant money invested in Bitcoin, please go read these threads fromreal, and respected investing forums.

https://www.bogleheads.org/forum/vie...?f=10&t=233501

https://www.bogleheads.org/forum/vie...?f=10&t=234228

We should act like a family here. As much as some of you act cocky and it might be entertaining to see you eat losses, the "protect each other" instinct should kick in more. Yeah.. it may go up.. but genuinely.. I think it's in your best financial interest to take your win and walk away proud. You should read through those entire threads if you disagree. The average poster is FAR more educated than most any poster here.

I'm saying this because I don't want to see you guys lose. Could I be wrong? Sure... but just read up.

Today was supposed to be a bloodbath with futures, instead it's holding steady around $17,000 and LTC and ETH had big surges. I listened to the investing experts for years while they fear mongered and lost out on good money. Maybe it'll go belly up soon, but I'm riding it to the moon or going down with the ship. TY for the actual warning instead of lol BTC is Tulip.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his gods?

I'm looking long term. I acknowledge the bubble could collapse any day now, but blockchain tech is in my eyes the most revolutionary invention since the internet in the 90s. I would rather have a piece of the pie now than cry regretting that I sold for a short term profit 10 years down the road.

For a million obvious reasons and a million not obvious reasons, any currency needs to be regulated. They have already implemented some regulations on cryptos but if it is to survive, it will need to have more regulations. Absolutely.

Just read those threads posted at the top of this thread, seriously, the actual intelligent investors say it better than any of us can.

Meh, traditional investors have been trying to scare us away from bitcoin since it was created, yet it keeps going up. Maybe they need to get with the times

I know it is very risky, but it would need to crash to around $4000 and never come back up for me to lose money. I don't think that will happen any time soon

No need to get out completely, I certainly wouldn't invest my life savings or a large percentage of my total investments in bitcoin but this bubble is far from bursting and there are still gains to be made within reason

Really at this point miscers need to take a more serious look at LTC and ETH and perhaps ripple. There is a lot of potential there

Pretty much this. It was like a penny stock, that never stopped having runs. It hasn't stopped inyears. I dont think there is a bubble to pop at this point in time when I have 70 year old insurance company owners asking me how to get into it.

Absolutely, the bankers ultimately have the power and they can shut it down anytime, hell I think they even created BTC to scam greedy people in the long run. Glad I have money invested in 10 different coins, not just one. I might pull out soon though

I don't know why you'd sell now, when Bitcoin has pretty much been rallying for 6 straight months.

It's a bubble, but the demand for it right now is still pretty strong, so it won't collapse any time soon. There are still plenty or greater fools.

LOL at looking out for each other. I remember when people thought it would never go back to $1000, like myself. Now $1000 doesn't even get you a tenth of ownership. Pretty soon $1000 won't get you a whole Ethereum or Litecoin either. Better diversify your digital funds because Blockchain and Crypto is here to stay, fuktards on Wallstreet and DC are scared of this technology. People pulling out of Gold, Stocks, IRA's to put their faith into this, and I will too. I'm not out here blowing my mortgage payment or retirement on this but if I lose a couple thousand i'll look back in 40 years and say I at least enjoyed the ride.

Ironically, that's more evidence of a giant bubble and a bad sign.

Y'know, I got out of half my bitcoins & ethereum a week ago, but posts like yours make me think I should get back in. People like you who think they know something are notoriously wrong more often than they are right and so are people like the dipshats in the thread you posted. As soon as I clicked on the first link I read "bitcoin--is it pure ponzi scam"....lol the word is scheme, and in no way is bitcoin structured like a ponzi scheme. Do you even know what a ponzi scheme is? You dumb fukkin kunts who think you're educated on matters of speculation in markets are the idiots who I use to be a contrarian. i am so confused now, fukk your penis

Buddy... if you're going to invest money in it, you need to learn to read past the first post. Literally his first post is edited to say it's not a ponzi scheme in bold letters, and nearly all the posts after for pages and pages say it's not a ponzi scheme and give educated responses with articles on their thoughts on Bitcoin.

So.. calm down and read, it's for your own benefit. These are very educated investors - not tied to wallstreet just everyday people who are big on investing.

I don’t think bitcoin will “crash” truly until it becomes widely regulated

Until then, it remains nothing more than a way for me to diversify and I no longer day-trade but being invested in bitcoin allows me to buy during the lows and sell during the highs and have a bit of fun with it

Im concerned about the bubble, but honestly no one knows what will happen. However, you cant listen to advice from people who are not invested because they are most likely jealous they are missing out on gains and hate on bitcoin. You cant listen to people who have recently invested in bitcoin either because they want others to buy to raise the price. Honestly, the only advice i would take is people who have bought bitcoin sub $1000. Why? Because they will be realistic because they already made huge gains so they have no money motive.

Diversifying is generally done to protect yourself and lower your risk. Crypto increases risk/does the opposite of what you're hoping to achieve. If you want to be diversified for safety (it's purpose) check out VTI.

Day trading is also something that's likely not to be the best for you. Those who pick their own stocks do worse than those who "ride the market".

Those two points are facts that have been proven many times, but if you want to speculate on bitcoin good luck man, I mean there's nothing wrong with gambling if you want to do it for fun. We've all done it, just as long as you're fully educated on what most investors think about the current state of it.

Eh.. that's a scary statement to suggest you can't listen to these guys (the guys in the links) saying they're only saying that because "they're jealous".

Man.. these guys you're claiming who only say this out of jealousy are the proven leaders in making money and they do very well, and there's a ton of them. It's an open public forum. Personally... I'd listen to them and not just assume they're talking from jealousy. They're investors.

I agree with your general sentiment.

But then again I thought it was going to crash at $100, at 1k, 2k, 3k, 5k, 7k, 9k, 10k, 12k, 15k... and here we are now.

The real answer is noone knows you just have to be comfortable with the risk you're personally taking and leave it at that.

Funny thing is, I bet most of the guys with a crypto hard on around here no idea why the value has surged so much. Just riding the ego train like they have some kind of inside knowledge on all of this.

I've bought into the hype and have some. But it's money I could lose if the bubble pops. I will let out a very hearty LOL at the idiots investing everything they have into this.

Good post. I agree with the bogleheads, smart bunch over there. Bitcoin may keep going up and I may be missing out on gains, but I don’t speculate. I’ll stick to value investing. If bitcoin makes some people rich then good for them
