Sadly I won't be donating for the next 12 months because I had an accidental needle stick at work from an agitated patient who was also HIV+. Lab work and medications for the next four weeks and then multiple followup labs. FML.

So most likely you'll be alright. Maybe take some stuff at home for your immune system as well, like vitamin c or something. (as well as the post exposure prophylaxis medication of course).
Crossing my fingers for you.
Maybe this is a sign for you to get out of working in the healthcare industry srs. (you said you're a male nurse).

On a side note. Tried giving blood before a hip replacement, they tested for my blood type, and told me they don't need mine.

Last donation was 10/3/18
Going again for a double red on 11/6/18
Note: The recommended donation interval is every 56 days. When your hemoglobin is 18.8, a little shorter time frame isn't going to hurt

We do drives twice a year at my job. I need to get on donating in between those. I missed the last drive at work because I had to WAH that day.

Donโt know if this counts as proof but I just stumbled across this thread and donated blood back in September and had this pic on my phone (got extra credit for my A&P lab)

Just gave my first donation a few weeks ago. Something Iโve wanted to do for ages and finally did it. Got my next one booked in a few weeks. Blood type is A+

I only eat food in bar form. When you concentrate food, you unleash its awesome power, I'm told. That's why I'm compressing 5 pounds of spaghetti into one handy mouth-sized bar...
Hospital please.

I have been a big believer in blood donation for years. I average 6X per year. 4X if I do a Double Red Blood Cell donation which requires 4 months before next donation.

Next drive at work is 5/15, I'm signed up. Iron was good at my yearly physical the other day so here's hoping it holds.

I'm going to be giving blood for the first time this year - I've never done it due to a fear of needles but having had a motorcycle accident that nearly killed me earlier in the year, and having blood taken 29 times due to internal injuries, I'm over it and ready to give back.
