I’d just add that women tend to take the pleaser and receptive role. One needs to be supremely confident in the connection, or in your own physicality, to open up ...perhaps specially as a woman where you can tend to be the more submissive partner...it’s more common for a guy to take the lead, just force his partner into what he wants.

Sex in a relationship is like a canary in a coal mine.

If the sex isn’t working, there’s usually an underlying reason, and something bigger going on that’s hurting the relationship.

It’s hard to face those big problems and people usually just accept their unhappiness until they can’t take it anymore and lash out, usually by cheating.

Currently zero issues. Have a kiddo and another on the way and other than the first couple weeks when we were dead tired from baby, it's been very consistent.

No delusions that it won't slow down some day, but I'm thinking I'll have a good run until about 45ish. Her sex drive is basically right in line with mine.

Getting turned down isn't common in my house, but it does happen occasionally. Probably a handful of times per year. It frustrates the hell out of me in that moment, but once I think about it for a bit, I usually understand.

Full time careers, a few young kids, social life, etc. It's easy to end up exhausted and not really in the mood sometimes when you've got a lot going on in life.

If my wife has been up since 430am with the baby, gets the kids ready for the day, works a 8 hour day, cooks dinner, entertains the kids for a few hours, etc...it's not surprising if she's just wiped out by the point that we finally get some alone time.

To be honest I'm kinda shocked that she doesn't turn down sex more frequently. She's a trooper, and definitely takes one for the team when I can tell that she's completely exhausted.

A lot of things can change for the worse after couple gets married. My wife and I are an example....her parents causing her problems, going from healthy normal female to hormones completely fuked by birth control, ending up getting IBS, acid reflux from stress so bad it basically gave her ulcers etc etc etc.... All this **** that's happened to her has practically killed her sex drive. We're still good with each other but she wants sex maybe once every 4-5 weeks. She'd give it up every day if I asked but there's no fire in it so I don't waste the time.

It may sound bad or that I've just given up but I honestly don't care about getting laid nearly as much as when I was younger.

Most would probably call BS but she was a virgin when we met and stayed that way until we got married. She started taking BC 3 months before the wedding and ended up stopping within a couple years because each one she tried gave her chit side effects that were worse. We stayed careful for a couple years after she stopped then when we actually wanted to try having a kid, nothing happened. I got checked, they checked her out and gave her hormones to up her levels and still nothing. Resigned to the fact we couldn't have a kid naturally, crushed her. That added to the stress and she thought that was why her periods were so horrible and would keep her in bed for a couple days minimum and be miserable for a few weeks a month. She literally only had 5-10 days a month where she didn't feel miserable. She finally saw a different doc because her original doc didn't seem concerned. Within a year of seeing her new doc, ended up getting a partial hysterectomy and essentially saved her life. Her mood, physical and mental health improved 110% all because the uterus was trying to kill her. She doesn't have much of a sex drive but she's far better than before.
