What I was saying in my post I was referring to the fuk up of command.

They were out on routine patrol and were not designated SF to hunt down ISIS commanders. They then receive orders to hunt down an ISIS commander in the local area but had none of the equipment required and the French Air Force were not called in to cover them. SO when the call does come in the planes are too far away.

It sounds like it shouldn't of happened but it did and the person responsible should be removed.

I think it's a 2 fold thing.

1) People with the right mindset and genetic/environmental makeup go into the special operations role and serve in those units

2) Special operations units further callus the mind (needed for these situations) and make you even more responsive and adaptable to behaving correctly in these situations.

We all know people in our every day lives who you could probably say "Yeah, that dude could be a ranger, seal, SF, etc" and they have that genetic/environmental makeup where they'd make it through. There are probably some that post here, solid dudes who would wreck shop if needed. But then when you go through the intensive training, it hones your lack of skills into mastery of skills and along with the mindset comes the violence of action, lethal ability and demeanor to bring mass amounts of hate to the enemy when you're in a bad situation.

So you take a person that makes it through this type of training (usually 15-30% of people who try out) and then further train their mind and body to deal with it. That's why our military is so good at what it does. It funnels the types who do this type of work into units that support their expertise in different types of fields. (SF for small unit stuff, SEALS for anything water related, PJ's for medicine, rangers for direct action, SFOD for counter terrorism, etc)

Pretty much. The basic military and government type jobs don't prepare people for real life. Training at the range a few times a year and yelling "kill kill kill" as you're running around isn't real life. Seeing dudes with their heads in a canoe and brains splattered all over the ground and the smell of burning flesh while you're rattling the machine gun off towards the enemy is what sets you apart. Some people aren't capable of handling that. It's absolutely fine too, most people shouldn't be okay with it, I just think it's a little too late to figure it out when something explodes 50 yards away and then the guy in the machine gun turret ****s his pants and passes out.

A friend of mine (a couple years older than you) was a sniper in Marine 2nd Recon. Some years ago, one one the rarest of occasions when he actually talked about his experiences (he hardly ever does and I, frankly, never ask), he half-jokingly called himself a "functioning psycho" for being cool with what he had to do, at the time. Now, it makes sense.

Hell the SF team we use to roll on missions with had a mini gun and the newer version of the mark 19.. can't remember what it's called on one turret... that would have wiped those fukers out quick lol.

Any military brahs help out here?
The beginning of the video shows two vehicles. Looks to be 2 guys at the white truck and 3 at the SUV. At some point you can see one of the guys laying across the seats of the SUV trying to gas the vehicle with i guess his hand. I think by the time they realized they were severely outnumbered and surrounded they were pretty screwed. At that point jumping in an unarmored vehicle just turns 4 individual targets that can return fire into 1 bullet magnet. At the end of the video it looks like they might be attempting to flee to the other vehicle.

Whats up with the 21 isis killed? Doesn't seem to fit the video footage. Unless it was the other vehicles had much better success from somewhere else?

When *good* American soldiers shoot, it's not like the shooting you see in most movies or something. That's what sets American soldiers over a lot of their enemies in situations like this. An untrained soldier is going to blast ammo away quickly in the general direction of the enemy and think that's aiming. A good soldier is going to keep his head out long enough to get a decent sight picture, find a target and try to kill the target. Completely different than blindly firing rounds without taking the time to take an accurate shot. A standard combat load is just over 200 bullets. That's not a lot at all. Each round has to count. Each round is meant to kill someone. Yes, sometimes you lay down cover fire, but you do that 2-3 times and all your ammo is gone all of a sudden.

These Special Forces guys didn't appear to have drastically more ammo than a standard load. They would have known pretty quickly they needed to conserve ammo to some degree and conserve ammo.

Also in modern combat, it's really hard to actually see who you kill unless its a CQB type situation. You see them in your sights, shoot, see them disappear, but did they fall down, get wounded, get killed, or just disappear? You don't know most of the time. And really most of the time you don't care because you're already moving onto the next target.

man it's pretty fuked up how desensitized I am to violence/gore/etc

Watched the video, and it's fuked up, but it didn't really hit me emotionally or anything. I've watched way too much gore in my life, I think my brain is just fuked

After went on liveleak and spent like 30 minutes watching other fuked up chit
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Been reading about this a lot tonight and the whole operation was a fuking chitshow from start to finish. Those guys shouldn't have been in that situation and were extremely illprepared for what happened. The video Isis released showed the aftermath of the ambush and they took everything off the bodies right down to the boots.

I haven't been able to find out what happened to the dude that was found with his hands bound behind his back. Did they capture him alive?

I've always thought patrols take such massive balls / stupidity. You go out there, making yourself a target... OK in afghanistan etc. I believe they had a crap load of air support but then you still had to worry about ieds and suicidal rag heads. Nope, couldn't be a soldier.

FWIW- The screams in the video were addedd by ISIS. People on the reddit military sub foudn the individual screaming audio track online elsewhere.

Don't understand the people that chit on our troops because "they were somewhere they're not welcome". Who gives a phuck where our troops are? They didn't sign up and specifically ask to go to a certain country.
The saying "If you can't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them" couldn't be more true.
