Why have some people become so anti-college these days?

You talking biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, banking, perhaps information technology? Who the FUK knows what your dumb ass is talking about, I sure as fuk don’t.yeah let's just ignore the fact that the earnings difference between those with a college degree and those without one is on average, $1M, over a lifetime. Add another million for a doctorate.
To say where you went to school is more important than anything to an employer sounds like something a first year college ******* would say because they are ignorant of the world I suggest you hire an excavation crew to try and locate your head and remove it from your ass.

I suppose I'd probably eat a revolver before I'm in my 30s tossing around childish insults on the internet because someone doesn't agree with my opinion.

- Degree choice makes all of the difference in the world.
- Survivor-ship bias. Fails to take into account those that tried to get a degree spent 40k and failed.
- Present value of money. Particularly as it relates to debt payments and missing revenue.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ANY PERSON NEEDS TO KNOW... YOU ARE ONLY WORTH AS MUCH AS IT TAKES TO REPLACE YOU.
Jobs that require more skills, more intelligence, more training, higher difficulty, more disgusting... They all pay more.
As an early 20 something your goal is to acquire a skill set that has a high demand with moderate to high barriers to entry.
Many degrees do not grant you a skill set. These degrees have extremely poor ROI.

I spend majority of my time trying to automate things to get rid of the need for data entry clerks. You can MOVE up from those job positions. You can work an administrative job for 40K a year, get an MBA and go into finance or marketing etc.
You don't have to stay in that position forever. Also, its better than working retail with only a H.S degree.
