worst part is there is nothing going into the 9th film to look foward to. No origional cast (if you dont include chewie and the droids but yeh) left, kylo is still the big baddie and rey perfect and good so its only going to go one way with either him turning good or some **** or him dying. Hopefully is flops and then people see the chit that this movies have really been.

Lol the first movie was ok.. you had some interesting stuff like who is Snoke/what's his background.. why had Luke gone into hiding.. etc. What did they do in the second movie? Kill Smoke without giving any backstory.. Kill off Luke and have him in a garbage storyline

Likes does anyone legit care about the 3 main characters?

Half the star wars YouTube videos after force awaken were theories on who Snoke is.. Who were Reys parents or what has Luke been doing.. They what shat on all 3

The Disney chit IS the fanfic...

The real Star Wars has always been the EU. Episode 7,8,9 should have been about the Yuuzhan Vong, Jacen Solo falling to the dark side, and that final battle between him and his sister. SRS.

The books are light years ahead of the new ****... they should have just reformatted the Thrawn Trilogy to make sense with everyone being older + add in some Solo / Skywalker kids. Then turn one of them in the next trilogy.

I won't even watch the 9th one, there is literally nothing they can do to redeem it, it's impossible. They couldn't even let Luke kick someones ass in the last one, ****er was drinking titty milk and dying during meditation - unreal.

And ROTS had the bones of a really good movie. They just needed a better script/direction for the performances to be more believable all around. And make Anakin's fall more believable. After watching The Clone Wars (TV animated) it makes it a lot better TBH.

The Force Awakens - 4/10 too much fanservice, but an entertaining movie
Rogue One - 7/10 pretty cool characters, shocking ending but lacks some depths
Solo - 6/10 enjoyable but forgettable movie, they had the main character act too much like Harrison Ford, noone could pull off an impersonation without seeming a little cringe
The Last Jedi - 3/10 it had some amazing shots and impressive concept art, but Rian Johnson's writing is really dumb

Rogue One just seemed like an Akira Kurusawa seven samurai ripoff to me. Which I guess made it a good story. Most ripoffs are. Magnificent seven was good too.

I agree with the above poster that RO was a 7ish. Not great, not bad either. Not original, sure. And yeah a little too much trying to please the Chinese markets, but still it did feel gritty and grown up. I did cringe at the joke Vader made and the excessive Kung fu by blind guy but can't remember cringing anywhere else... Which is great for a modern star wars lmao.

Seven Samurai (and other Kurosawa films) are openly proclaimed sources of inspiration, that influenced Lucas when he created the original Trilogy. So, it wouldn't surprise me if the writers went back to Seven Samurai for inspiration.

The prequels are good movies- I really don't understand how they get so much hate. I can watch episode 3 whenever it's on tv, never find it boring. Seeing Anakin turn to the dark side and ultimately how he became Darth Vader was brilliant storytelling. The movie had a Star Wars feel, like you were immersed in that universe. You can't even compare it to the new movies - Anakin gains his power slowly over time, dude loses his hand in a fight and is supposed to be one of the most gifted jedis ever. Yet Rey can work magic with a lightsaber after 3 days - POS new movies absolutely ruined SW for me.

Star wars 1 (a new hope) original was by far far far the most epic.

Seeing the star destroyer first time, darth vader first time. The xwing space battle and falcon.

It was on another level. We had years for that to marinate into our memories before they did any prequels/sequels.

It wasnt the best story out of all the movies, but it was EASILY the most epic being the first.
