Could you go over the timeframe you went through? Bulk/cut cycles, or long recomp, weights by year, etc?
I was a bowl of mashed potatoes @ 215 lbs in 2013. Started lifting seriously and dreamer bulked to 230, got pretty strong. Spent a year and a half or so slowly going down in weight.

2016 I finally got serious about a consistent diet and got to low 170's for the first time.

Bulk/ cut cycles are usually 15-20 lbs now over the course of 5-6 months. Cut is never faster than 1 lbs a week (average weight) and I've had pretty good success holding muscle.

Never did anything more complicated than hitting min fat/ protein (50g and 175-180g) and then filling the rest to hit calories.

Avi is currently halfway through cut at 180ish @ 5'8, about 8 lbs from summer weight.

Always mostly thought a calorie is a calorie. But turns out carbs are very damaging in high amounts, especially sugars. Who knew.

Known about Keto and IF for years but recently started researching hard into it and mind is blown. Once you learn how insulin works it all makes perfect sense.

Would jump on keto but the diet would be a colossal change. I’m on my third day of IF in the meantime.

Keto is a colossal change for anyone on a standard diet. My body adapted easily to it and I've been on it for nearly 6 months now. Have never felt better. Sustained energy 24/7. Never feel hungry. Simple to incorporate IF into it once you get adapted.

It's not for everyone, but it has tons of benefits and for me it works very well.

Took no performance hit being on low carb vs being on higher carb. My energy levels are higher, strength is about the same, doing massive amounts of supersetting/compound sets. Then again, I also take one day a week eating whatever the fuk I want, which means massive amounts of carbs, lol.

Haven’t read thread but incorrect.

Intermittent fasting is a literal cheat code for those who can do it easily.

How many carbs are you eating while on IF?

Keto can be great for a while, until your hormones crash.

I would advise anyone following such a diet to get regular blood panels done, including a wide array of hormone levels.

Can be an awesome fat loss and reset method for sure. However, as a consistent long term strategy I'm not so sure about it efficacy.

brb you're always on a fat burning mode each time you eat and workout
If you eat a lot of fat you will be burning fat, but that doesn't necessarily mean burning bodyfat.

True but you do get 'better' at it. I felt it happening after about 4 weeks. Pretty weird feeling to go through.

their proof is in a blog comment section? Current research shows keto is beneficial for fighting/preventing most cancers
