DBs > Barbells

^ agreed squats aren’t necessary

“Overtraining” fukking lol

Pyramid sets are GOAT

Lifting + Functional Strength + Cardio. I don’t mind spending 2 hours in the gym working on all of them. It’s far better than just lifting for 30 - 45 min, imo

You don’t need THAT much protein

Curling in the squat rack is fun.

200 lbs at what height? At what body fat %? Because your love handles in your AVI might make you >200 lbs. but it doesn't make you look like you lift.

Man, this thread is a treasure trove of....something.

Anyway, I guess mine would be endurance training does not always hinder gains. I have seen better muscle definition with heavy lifting even while putting in mileage.
Currently: Marathon training (Run with Hal - Advanced I); The Work/Body Beast hybrid

What's your approach to adding weight to pyramid sets? I find straight sets a bit more straight forward.

That it's not that hard to find genetic freaks, there are many people with elite-tier genetics walking around who could very well become the next Larry Wheels / Eddie Hall
Stats:

5'7 165 lbs

bench-240
squat-405
dead-430

all you need for traps is deads. for tris, bench and ohp are more than enough. for bis, chinups, never do curls.

for calves, squats and deads will build great calves.

i hate *******s who give advice like this.

It isn't their genetics that are holding them back, it is their diet 9.99 times out of 10. I'm with you on the barbell.

Beltless training is fake news and has no place in powerlifting training

You lift less with beltless (usually), meaning lesss stimulus to your lifts = detraining. Doing more bad than good

Endurance trainingabsolutelydoes not hinder gains or muscle growth. Terrible and unfortunate misconception.
