I live in one of the continent's ****giest towns and it doesn't affect me in any appreciable way. Hell, it's come full circle to the point where the city's incumbent progressives were challenged by a more conservative slate that was led by a gay man, and his sexuality literally wasn't an issue to anyone because no one sincerely gives a **** about whether strangers stick their genitalia in the "right" place or not. At worst it means when I flip the local papers or listen to the radio there'll probably be a column or two talking about things LGBT people are doing, which since I have no reason to open my mouth it doesn't get "shoved" down my throat... because I'm not gay.
