I tagged along with my buddy a few times when he went out pig hunting and jesus the durability of some of those boars. Just throwing dogs around and ****.
Was a decent experience scary af though since my friend stuck it and missed it's heart.
Was meant to be a clean kill like this but the dogs wouldn't hold on properly.

We were near a creek while this was happening with all these mud slides for the salt boyos everywhere so we really on edge.

Damn...I don't think I could ever hunt. I'm a carnivore so I realize it's hypocritical of me to say...but that is hard for me to watch. The sound of the f'in boar screaming for its life...I mean, I'd feel the same if it were a dog being attacked, just hard to stomach. Guess I'm a softie.

Any time i hear a pig start squealing it's lungs out it's fukn ear blistering and just puts you completely on edge. Always sounds like it's in death throes.

we take our meat for granted thats for sure; most people don't realize what goes on in respect to getting the food to our tables. i used to live in the philippines as a kid and would visit my family out in the provinces. my uncles brought me out back so i could see how we get our food; slaughtering the goats, pigs, and chickens isnt pretty. makes me appreciate and the food more, especially knowing what the animals went through.

That's a filthy subhuman thing to put your dogs through the risk of being mauled by a boar, I assume those dogs live chained up outside and are beaten on a regular basis to keep them "mean"

Lets be real here, we'd probably all be capable of this if our survival or livelihood required it. I never want to hurt animals, but if I was in the wild and starving or didn't have access to neatly-packed meat from a grocery store, there's no doubt I'd be capable of slaughtering any range of animals for their delicious innards. The same thing could be said about hunting animals that threaten your ability to provide, taking down your livestock etc etc

Being detached from all that ain't a bad thing IMO, we're just fortunate

Ok, will weigh in here only because I don't think people realize just how large powerful and intelligent these creatures are...

Wild hogs are a historically natural food source from Europe and East Asia (Middle East was more about cattle type breeds, ie steak), they breed very very fast + even if you domesticate pigs, within months away from captivity, they can modify to a wild hog, in addition they can grow to enormous sizes, think 500+ pounds easy, 1000+ pounds is possible as well, their intellect is greater than dogs, their hide and skull is much thicker as well...

People here are thinking why not just hit it hard, well, if a lion sized animal that is at least as intelligent attacked you, the only way to survive is avoidance or game changing weapons, this video really sucks, makes me sad just watching it, mostly because I know those poor souls had no chance because they underestimated it...

Unless you have a shotgun or more and/or a pack of trained pits or curs, avoid at all costs...

Truth. Humans are the species that can run the farthest on the entire planet. Early hunters would pack chase larger animals until they collapsed from exhaustion then finish it off.

Also noteworthy itt, wild hogs are a completely distractive invasive species that cause massive crop damage and force native species out either by the habitat damage they cause or by eating the young of other species. In most states hogs are a nuisance species and you don't need any kind of license to hunt them, just landowner permission, and you can literally kill as many as you want.
