Feels. I remember 1999 like it was yesterday. What a time to be alive. Blink 182 and The Offspring on non-stop loop on my tape deck.
I know it seems like people are more narcissistic nowadays and that there also more narcissistic people in general. It's hard to tell. At face value it seems obvious. I remember back when I was in graduate school I did some research on narcissism. I wanted to see whether the level of narcissism is similar to what it was back in the day, but the thing is now narcissistic people have a platform to expose said narcissism (instagram, myspace, ********, etc). In the end, it was impossible to claim which it was. It's possible that it's the former. Although, I did enjoy presenting these findings to an undergrad class made up primarily of women. I used examples of people attention whoring on ******** and instagram. Lots of these 18-20 year old women really didn't like what I was saying because they were actively doing it.
