1999 was my first year of high school. had a blast.

we used to beat the chit out of each other in the hallways. hit each other with stiff steel chair shots. we didn't hold back. the douchebags listened to dave matthews, the cool kids listened to alice in chains, pearl jam and soundgarden.
put ex lax in peoples' drinks and chit. we had a good time
98VTC_k-10M

RIP society (srs)
I'm on the tail-end of millennial, so my primitive internet memories were mostly from elementary and middle school. I think the biggest difference back then was there was never an excessive need to fit in and follow crowds/trends. There was cliques (i.e. nerds/jocks/art kids/stoners/etc.) and definitely some tension, but people were generally happy accepting whatever group they identified with and leaving people alone unless others were starting **** with them. For whatever reason today, I feel like 80% of people are excessively normie and the other 20% are autists that are difficult to socialize with or into really weird **** as a way for them to look like rebels against the normies.

I think social media and it's constant emphasis on trending/viral nonsense has kind of melded society to be this way.

Yeah it's not just nostalgia - I'm a HS grad of around that time, and things were legitimately better.

Notice how healthy and normal those people are? Yeah....that was a reflection of the entire society.

This is what leftist philosophy does, it destroys the core institutions which the society is built on, Educational system, Girl Scouts / Boy Scouts, athletic programs, church, community, turn your local police from a community service organization into a paramilitary force with no connection to the city it serves....blah blah you guys know the drill.

Anyway, much better times, more innocent, happy, healthy, friendly, good community. We can get it all back, we just have to destroy the leftists and cultural marxists.

I graduated in 2007. Even from this video to my graduating year, there was a massive change. Culture is too irony focused, nowadays. I think that has an even bigger impact than they hysterical tantrum politics.

i remember no one caring about how many likes they had on instagram, no one on phones, teenage girls not being massive whores, ect.

Society was simply 1000% less self-centered.

Tbh these vids don't prove anything they are completely random out of probably millions of different places in the US

I work with thousands of people and at least half the people i interact with on a daily basis are just awkward/silent types who need their phone out to even function

I mean it's nothing like the 1987 7/11 video posted above ^

Class of 99 checking in. Looks familiar. I came across an old school newspaper article and the verbiage used was better (in a high school newspaper) than what you see in the mainsteam today. Obviously have no frame of reference to how HS was after I was done but I'd imagine after 2012 everything changed.
