Lol at defending the cheating though. Sad....learn the material.
Last thing we need are people graduating with degrees who aren't really knowledgeable about the subject they studied- there's way too much of this already, for example in mathematics. Too many people out there, such as teachers with bachelors degrees in math, who can't answer pretty much any non-trivial question if put on the spot. The college courses are already too easy in most schools....smh at having to cheat.

i have 0 problem with the cheaters being punished, but wouldn't this professor have gotten the same result if he/ she just made up their own questions that couldn't be looked up? instead of providing a fake answer on a site (at the very least they knew chegg was being used)
so i do think it's a little cheap

They get to pick the classes and the times that "work for them" and don't even have to do FLEX activities or office hours if they don't want to.
They give these perks because they know adjuncts are cheaper than full timers and can scale the budget accordingly.
Just lol @ thinking Admins care about student opinions at all. You are more likely to get fired (or not rehired) if you aren't social with the rest of the department.

Adjuncts are paid essentially minimum wage, no benefits, and if no students sign up for their classes (which this professor will have happen to him once word spreads) they are unemployed with no guarantees from the University expressed, nor implied. If they routinely can't fill classes or reach the minimum threshold, they are no longer contracted. Further more, if the adjunct doesn't fulfill mandated metrics (survey by students and average grades/attendance/drop rate), they are no longer allow to teach there.

He probably should have pulled each of them aside and called them out on it, rather than posting it online and reporting them to the university authorities.
Should have had a little chat with them, gave them a stern warning, maybe blackmailed one of that hot stacy's... I mean just been a cool professor
If a test can be cheated on in this manner, then such tests shouldn't even exist

That prof is going to regret it when inevitably all those students contest that zero and then he has to go to the admin (who already has way more on their plate to deal with than usual) and they read that snarky as fuk email lol.
"So during a pandemic, when students are struggling more than usual due to physical classes being cancelled, zoom being at best hit and miss, their families being under massive amounts of stress financially and possibly health wise as well. You decided to entrap students by making an impossibly hard question (which in itself will increase the students desire to look it up), post it on a popular site frequented by students, and did so with no regard to the fact it would have a negative impact on every single student during the exam since they would all universally struggle on the fake question, causing them to waste a large mount of unnecessary time on it thus putting them under more pressure to complete the rest of the exam. Putting all students under additional mental stress (which can led to students scoring lower on the rest of the exam) in addition to that. Thats how you decided to utilize you and your TA's time in preparation for the final?"

for my online final exam the instructor said they would check the I.P. addresses of students to make sure people they were following the academic integrity policy and not looking up answers on websites lol, i didn't read the warning until after the exam was finished and had opened up some sites during it, was worried for a bit but i think it was a bluff because nothing happened. I don't think it's even legal but who knows

OutdoorsBrah...please stop. You are making yourself look like a fool. It is obvious you aren't a HE educator and don't know how things work.
"Full-timer" can be tenure-track, tenure, long-term temporary (in cases of certain Community Colleges), or a Lecturer (who doesn't have tenure and doesn't conduct research). Adjunct implies a part-time (sometimes full-time in cases of Universities) but who have tentative contracts with no guarantee of being rehired the next term. Things are changing though as Adjunct unions form and are securing more perks for Adjuncts. Sac State, for example, allows "Adjuncts" to get contract guarantees after being there a while to achieve a type of de facto "tenure" or continuing contracts.

A test should serve 2 purposes. One for the student and one for the professor.

Not sure what his problem with adjuncts are, though. Accepting an adjunct position doesn't do much for you except open up the doorway to adjunct purgatory.

Speaking from experience, I have two degrees (accounting&finance) and am soon to have a second designation behind my name (June 2021 hopefully). I definitely learned more after university while self studying for the big exams, taking extra courses, and most importantly working in the field/with people that allowed me to apply the concepts I've learned and make sense of them in real life situations.
In my opinion what the professor did is pretty stupid.
edit: well, maybe not "learned more," but definitely polished many concepts and have a better understanding of the big picture after getting a job.

Here’s the review that raised suspicion:
I could easily teach this class myself. all he does is read from some other teachers slides and can never answer questions clearly. Labs every week, hard to do on my own. class was not mandatory and then made it apart of our grade. 1 midterm, final is accumulative. 3 projects, 2 VERY HARD. do not take this class he wont help you at all.

This is exactly why a college degree is worthless these days. When everyone has one it doesn’t mean a damn thing

Watching people get insanely triggered by this was very satisfying.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.
