****ed but also lulzy. Jesus some of you in here are salty towards professors.

Doing open note stuff for online courses is okay to me, but I can't stand students who cheat in class by sneaking in notes or looking at tests of their neighbors.

I did a pre-med degree and took a kinesiology course for fun. I was the only pre-med student in the class, the rest were athletic training students. Anyways, I took both physics I and II in one semester and got A's in both, so when math started getting involved in kinesiology the other students panicked and were begging me for help. I started holding after class study sessions where I essentially played professor to 10-15 students, and ho lee fuk they were so lazy. They didn't understand that you had to derive formulas with physics and there was a lot of interpretation needed (though it was all simple stuff in this course) they whined and complained about it and just wanted to "know the formula" for each question type. They couldn't comprehend that it didn't work this way. So then it devolved into them trying to sit by me and cheat during tests and wanting me to send them our homework assignments to copy. I told them I'd love to help teach them how to do the homework and made it clear to **** off during exam time. Lazy ****s all passed the course but barely made it. If I'm going out of my way to help you, don't be a lazy ****.

The professor is a sack of shit. Everybody cheats in college one way or another. The funniest thing I’ve witnessed is a international student cheat in the middle of a final using her iPhone. Prof saw and ripped up the exam in front of everybody.

I dont care about what the Prof did but I cant wait to see the Universities and colleges of the world shutter enmasse because the fake money train from students dries up from corona chan.

90% of these institutions can just vanish and leave the best tbh. Fuk the system that has enabled debt chains, fuk the majority of lazy lecturers and Profs and fuk "students" going in for bullchit courses.

To be fair, the process of learning, especially self learning, is to go and seek out sources of information. If you make a problem impossible to solve, you cant fault a curious mind for going to look it up.

Would make more sense for these online tests to focus more on explaining the process of getting an answer

or you could look at it this way

would you rather your surgeon open you up, see something he's never seen before and just start going to town hoping it works, or would you hope he uses outside resources to see if there are other cases similar to use that knowledge before continuing?

its unfair to the kids to have gone about it with an impossible question, if he wanted to catch legit cheaters he should have made up an entirely original test and put all the wrong answers on chegg. Professors that do that are fine, but putting one impossible to solve question on a test filled with possible to solve questions and expecting kids to not look up that one question thats literally impossible to solve is straight up retarded.

Pretty ****ing funny. But as a professor myself, I laugh at the professor. Hell, I teach math and know damn well even 90%+ of the students I have will not use anything more than basic math. I just try to make it my job that they can be more comfortable with numbers. They are going to learn well beyond what they need to know in a course, anyway. If they want to cheat through a degree, not learn how to think at all, then get a job where they are completely lost, that's their loss and the student will probably get fired from this future job. This professor, if intelligent, should realize this.

And no, I don't like it when people cheat, but it's gonna happen in this situation, so why would I waste my time thinking of creative scenarios to catch cheaters when I could just let the honest students actually get through the course with an accurate grade of their abilities.

Lmao i remember cheating in school, we had this system where not everyone did the exam first. So if you had connections with the class that did it first you could get the questions and answers.

So for the multiple choice questions people were just memorising the answers like a,a,a,b,c,c,a,c.

The teachers caught on and changed the order of the questions and you still had dumbasses writing the exact same answer lmao.

I did it smart by actually finding out the actual answer, not just the multiple choice letter.

Intelligent people, when they are faced with an insurmountably difficult question, do one of two things:

Prove that there is no answer to the question

Just submit their best progress or else submit no answer, or if it's multiple choice select a random answer.

They don't cheat like monkey brains, sorry if you and your braindead friends aren't intelligent. Sure we'd look up the answer after the exam, but only after and we wouldn't put the answer we found on our exams. Oh and no one cares how much money you make now after cheating in school, industry doesn't reward intelligence it rewards rent-seeking.

He probably caught only the students who usually don't cheat and didn't catch the ones who always cheat. There are always those students who freak about their high/perfect GPA too, bet there was a student with a 4.0 who panicked and cheated on the last question now getting a 0 and reported.

Professors should want their students to achieve. Expecting an average score in the class of only 85 means he/she intentionally tested the students on material he/she didn't teach them or didn't completely cover.
A test should serve 2 purposes. One for the student and one for the professor.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Especially the fraternities, they all kept test banks. They also had systems of phones and vibrations setup to tell the correct choices. Was funny too me.

The Professor just let every student taking the test know the name of an online cheating website (Chegg) so they can now use that website to cheat on all future tests.
