The issue is that these masks don't really do much of anything, so the people getting most upset about others not wearing masks are really only upset because masks mean compliance and they don't like anyone to not comply with their arbitrary edicts.

BTW, my bet is that the big issue with Kung Flu will eventually be discovered to be the dose of the exposure. Mild exposure from a passing stranger is probably not a big deal for most of us. Repeated exposure because you're stuck inside with infectious people, breathing re-circulated air is another matter, even for healthy people. That's why medical people were dying in large numbers early on I think. They were getting mega doses of this stuff in the air.

It's time we stopped pretending that these bullchit measures are doing anything and started putting into place practices that will really protect the old and infirm as much as possible. Herd immunity is the only way forward. Get outside, get back to normal, take whatever precautions you want for yourself, but don't dictate to others how they have to behave. The Karens that are getting triggered are getting triggered over nonsensical stuff anyway.

If this thing was ONLY being spread by large droplets within coughing radius, then maybe the argument for homemade masks would be stronger. However, that appears not to be the case. The masks that are being used widely, and the ones I'm talking about, are the ones made from cloth fabric you'd buy from a fabric store or make from old t-shirts, jeans, etc. Those aren't stopping hardly any Kung Flu "spikey balls" floating in the air on microscopic particles.
