You're right. They're similar in that they bring no real value.

How exactly does society benefit from either?

The only ones benefiting are the elites.

I'm 30. So i'm not that old. I'm at that age where I've seen all the BTC crashes for over half a decade now.

This is literally a cycle and you don't realize it lol.

You weren't around a few years ago when BTC was supposed to be 100k, a long time ago lol.

BTC is going up because what's going on with the dollar. Not because it's a life changing thing. It's definitely the early version of something life changing though.

The US dollar is backed by the strongest military force to ever exist on planet Earth.

Precious metals have intrinsic value for manufacturing.

Bitcoin is only worth what the next fool is willing to pay. It is a speculative gamble.

You can’t ban btc? You can shut off exchanges but there’s something called decentralized exchanges. All you need a QR code to send money and receive. They can’t stop it unless they shut the internet off. Even then there’s now satilities in space to keep the net work up and you can send btc over a ham radio. Brb us govenrmenrs can’t do chit and brb the rest of the world exists

Yo, I know that.

But a "currency" is not gonna take off if your government is actively trying to put an end to it. Currency needs to be widely accepted. Not just widely accepted by those hoping to get rich out of it (no offense).

BTW, my state had crypto exchanges banned for years while most of the other states did not. The point is, it's not happening without government being on board.

And they obviously not 'for the people'

Wrong. Unless they shut the internet off then they will drive it under ground but you can’t eliminate it. You people are the same people who said the internet would fail and is a joke and you’d never be able to order stuff off it. Just lol how wrong you all will be

It's not wrong. It's literally happened before in my state. lol

Exchanges won't let people from my state sign up. Brb having to use dark web to buy BTC or actively looking for sellers you don't know. (very safe lol)

What government is trying to end it? The comp troller of the USA said bitncoin is hesr to stay. Said that a month ago. Said they’ll be regulations for it like kyc. He’s the same guy who was on the board for coin base. He’s a huge crypto guy. Also another guy if buden gets in. The guy in charge of the financial system used to be a teacher and gave lecture on block chain and Bt. He’s pro btc. Btc is going to replace gold. Future generation is all digital. If you don’t see it now that sucks but one day you will get it And you’ll feel like a fool.

Hawaii. And there were a few others. We aren't banned anymore. But the point is, it can be whenever they want it to.

Not banned. But extremely difficult to access.

Didn't you mention that you hold btc? If so, shouldn't you sell it ? If I was of your mindset there is no way I would hold it. And this coming from a guy who is steeped I'm the blockchain environment

Commenting ITT to thank the Misc for awaring me about Bitcoin back in 2013-4. Of course I didn’t buy in that earlier but did a couple years later. Had it not been for this forum and the *******s educating so hard at first I might have never purchased.

That's not true.

Black and Gray markets exist, and (if some economists are to be believed) the black and gray market is far bigger than most would believe.

Most of the government is openly against hard drugs, yet they are everywhere. When there is will, there's a way. Anything can, and is, traded if there is demand. Even if the government threatens people with imprisonment for doing it.

IMO they are just waiting for enough middle class people to buy in. The establishment is going all in on the great reset and gutting the middle class.

I will never believe in this ghetto chinese scam. An analyst on the news said that "its not just weird people in their basements funding it, it's getting some conservative financial backing" which means the ceo is pumping it up for the time being. After covid this will blow away and flutter into the wind like an empty pack of ramen noodles

It is a scam. Too much shady chit has happened with BTC over the past decade.

It's always the new crypto investors shilling the hardest. Notice how they are all different from last years crypto shills lol. They want their lambos and bought into the hype without realizing it's the same cycle every single time. Sell before the crash, otherwise you won't be posting about cryptos much longer lol.
