You can stop the rot; don't be afraid miscer to take the step into infinity, and receive eternal bliss.

Today is the day you say "I will no longer waste my precious days over nothing". Today is the day you take the BTC pill and ascend.

For a long time, we have almost always used state issued currency. The state being in control of the currency is like the state being in charge of the religion, and religion being in charge of the state, just as the banks are in charge of the state as well. Since they ripped up the gold standard, the government has almost unlimited power, because they are the bank and they can just print money. This has all kinds of corruption issues going on. Your state currency has been constantly devaluing since it was created.

Now we have cancel culture in effect along with globalist and their agendas. They are going to try to make it so that those who don't follow their rules can't buy or sell or even hold their money anywhere. Look at what they are trying to do to Trump? Like him or hate him, the fact that they can deplatform someone like that, basically block them, is kind of scary.

The only thing I worry about is the government/banks try to stop Crypto by making it illegal to own or use it. That's where things get hairy. I can promise you that when it starts to threaten their position there will be moves made.

Not distributed network ('decentralized') crypto, or privacy cryptocurrency projects. They want centralized and open digital currency.

It's likely they will try to regulate decentralized crypto in a way that it's not an economic threat to fiat currency... It could work, as long as people only treat crypto as a speculative asset.

Bitcoin Cash for example (a better version of Bitcoin) is also used to send money overseas, because of it's low transaction fees (less than 1 cent) and speed (confirmation is often a few minutes, but normally a max of 1 hour). Same for Dash and Smartcash. Those 3 are growing in popularity in Latin America.

Unfortunately, I think you may be right.

Note: I'm specifically talking about Bitcoin.

What I can also see is banks offering custodial services for Bitcoin, and that will appeal to Boomers... Which will help to condition them to accept the upcoming CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency).

For anyone reading CBDCs are not a conspiracy theory, they are literally being rolled out in a number of nations right now. China, Singapore, Argentina, and Brazil. Also, 70% of banks around the world literally have plans to roll out their own CBDC, according to the BIS...

There are people in the crypto space developing way make using cryptocurrencies as boomer friendly as possible. Smart contract based custodial solutions rather than bank based that give people the ability to claim a refund, etc.

you don’t type in addresses. This shows me you lack knowledge. You scan a QR code or copy paste. Al crypto is like this. Also women can get into this. The solution is custodian you incel. Or education for self custody and this isn’t for the fkn boomers. They are all dying off. This is for the digital age.

I think you are confusing code security with privacy or anonymity?

1) People can report that they were the victim of crime. e.g. Ransomware.

2) Most cryptocurrencies are an open ledger. Meaning data transaction history of an address can be examined by anyone with access to the software to examine blockchain transaction history. (e.g. Chainanalysis, Blockchain explorers you can find on the web).

Blockchain security has nothing to do with if the ledger is open or not. The security of the blockchain is through it being a distributed network, where transaction histories are confirmed and records maintained by multiple nodes. Also, through developers protecting the network against a 51% attack - where a bad actor/actors controls 51% of the network, and using the processing power to disrupt the integrity of the ledger/processing of the network.

I assume you aren't talking to me, because I've never said that about Bitcoin. Bitcoin IMO really is just going to be - for better or worse - Digital Gold. Gold is not a threat to the traditional financial system.

IMO even if lightening network becomes usable enmasse and by developers, Bitcoin will not be used for daily purchases. I think by then - which is probably years away - by then the psychology around Bitcoin will be seeing it as 'digital gold' and people don't use gold for daily purchases.
Have you seen the network fees for ether right now?
ETH is mainly used for DEFI (Decentralized Finance. Decentralized or non-custodial versions of traditional banking products and services) and trading.

There are number of alternatives to ETH that have either rolled out, or are rolling out, that offer significantly lower fees.

IMO ETH - over the next 5 years - will be dethroned as the no. 1 used smart contract network for Polkadot, and Polkadot parachains. Also, Cardano, Avalanche, Horizen, Wanchain, BSV, etc, all offer platforms for building DApps with different solutions for faster, cheaper, and more data transactions than Ethereum. Ethereum is basically 1.0 DEFI/DApp ecosystem. 2.0 is literally being rolled out as we speak.
The only reason these “your missing out” threads are made is so you can get people to pump the price and your stack increases. crypto is a load of big whales dumping on little fry half the time.
These threads are IMO about crypto trading and investing, not promoting DEFI or cryptocurrency adoption.

I have noticed debating a few miscers about cryptocurrency adoption, that they seem to think that if something hasn't happened right now then it's not going to happen.

DEFI is in it's infancy, and cryptocurrency adoption is in it's infancy. Making a firm conclusion on crypto market/industry based on what has happened IMO is like judging the significance of the internet based on the internet in 1999. Fast forward to 2019, and it is quite literally integral to society. Possibly (and probably IMO) blockchain technology will have the same impact in the future.
