The thing is there are no actual cultures anymore for example gym culture has become completely mainstream so you get a bunch of people going there that don't even lift. Same thing with the scene kids/emo/goth scene you just don't see those small cultures that are into Slipknot, Hawthorne Heights or metalcore anymore. Same with skaters. When was the last time you saw those skaters that wore beanies and Volcom i just don't anymore. There used to be so many scenes but now people just wear skinny jeans, gym shorts, yoga pants or color their hair but there is no culture in any of it.

all I know is im glad people stoped wearing or they stopped making those gym pants real lifters wore back in the day. late 80s early 90s. they were like jogging pants but were super looose. they looked like idiots wearing them. ive never wore anything but a pair of shorts or some sweats and a plain white tshirt when i went to the gym.

Yeah totally, and any of the current culture is just a bad repeat of what happened over 10 years ago. (E.g, hairstyles, TV, clothes, radio etc).

It's a shame, as all of those subcategories you mentioned were quite creative, and I would never dismiss it as being retarded. (Like, I was never a emo, but didn't mind its existence) It was just people having a literal good time.

Just look at old hodgetwins videos or old wrestling clips and compare that to now

It's like everything now just has a beta/gay vibe to it

Yeah idk man music has condensed into the same pop/rap formula and its all people listen to now and idk why men dress up in designer shirts and trousers just to go out now you also see men dressing up to go to the gym but they all look the same with the stringers or under Armour stuff I just can't imagine dressing up like and wanting to look like everyone else. They also bring water bottles and bags in with them like they are about to stay the night at the gym lol.

I was also thinking that aswell. Like, as an extreme, the jocks in those movies. They wear the high-school varsity jackets, jerseys, hockey jerseys, torn vests, caps, etc. Guys in the real world wore that aswell. All looked epic. Then the standard people in random design shirts, (skulls, fire, random cities/pictures/writing) with jeans or three quarters. Looked beast and wasn't overthought. Guys these days are like women, window shop and discuss for hours about clothes. Whereas I just wore the stuff I got for Christmas, and picked up from a random market lol.

Even those Americans with ridiculously baggy clothes from pre 2005 looked cool/understandable.

Just look at any music video from before 2011, as that usually summarises the culture at the time.

Yeah it's bizarre, like, all the cool stuff has happened and is archived in our minds and on the Internet. Yet people are making the choice to dress gay and stuff?

I think that in 2011ish, the world peaked/was completed. There wasn't any room for improvement in any aspect of things. Every possible advancement has it's own backdraws. Simple example, technology and phones. These days, the passing of time is just a regression from 2013ish.

Funnily enough, gym culture back when you guys joined the misc (2005-2011) were completely flooded with these kinds of people. You most likely tried to look like this, people wherever you went looked like this aswell. (Frosted tips spiky hair, capped delts, aviators, tribal tattoos, etc)


It's weird, as current culture for guys is to wear skinny jeans showing ankles, gay circle glasses, be a skinny gay weed or fat and gross, introvert awkward talk on their little social media iphones 24/7, go out just to go back inside, have "mental health issues". Pathetic lol.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was the original gym icon and he was the terminator, so obviously he was tank lol.


But seriously, when I finally grew up, I was kind of disappointed that the misc and gym people are just kind of regular people who go to the gym. Where as before 2010/11ish, they were these ultimate douchebags on this pedestal, and the surrounding population would be trying to fit in. Wasn't anything to overthink aswell, as it was the norm.

But yeah, the old gym misc style. Looks a ton better than the current trash.

Pretty pathetic aswell, I can guarantee that if you chucked the "ideal average or celebrity role model" male and female into 2010, they'd get torn apart. Laughed at, beaten up, bullied, threatened and they'd wish they never existed. Even to this day, I'm ridiculously confused to how this all happened.

The levels of badassness/epicness people had pre/around 2010 was unreal. It's sad, because at the time, I had so much fun and it was the best time ever as that was the norm. The years flew by and now, 2010 was ages ago. Ahhhhh!!

Yeah up until about 2012-2013 even the youtubers had alpha personalities like Hodgetwins, Gregg Plitt and Zyzz/Jersey Shore for bodybuilding. All was the same cool alpha personality. Now it's the complete opposite. I can't find anyone who even acts like them anymore. But it was just the norm back then to be alpha like that. All ended around 2012-2013 though.

it is a huge shift. social media gave rise to anti-masculinity, political correctness, cancel culture and soylent infused cucks, which are changing how men behave for generations.

masculinity and success is a threat to these people. instead of working hard, they took the easy road in life, did the bare minimum, never accomplished anything and blamed their misfortunes on those that became successful

Yeahh!! Those guys you mentioned are a perfect example. (Plus that Yo Elliot guy, but recently he's kind of a loony?) Even those lifting "how to" guides were insane. Unfathomably gay these days. Check this out, used to watch this everyday.



Not a single person out there who acts with that douchey kind of persona. It was 10x more epic before, cos it suited them big time and all the teens/adults strived for that kind of thing.

Yeah back when everyone was into MMA and tapout. All that stuff is toxic masculinity now. I mean there's still clubs for it and stuff but you just can't act like that anymore anywhere else. It was just the default mode for like 75% of guys back then. All this mentality has been lost. 2014 was the last year of any of it. The same year when EDM music died too. It all just suddenly vanished.

So ****ing epic. "Toxic". Such a stupid term. Guys are designed to be absurd and douchebags. 2010 accentuated that fact big time. 99% of teens back then were trying to do jackass stunts and do wrestling moves on eachother. Funnily enough adults were doing the exact same thing lol. Uploading old clips with metal in the background. Lol, that was insanely perfect.

Seriously though, why do you think this happened at around 2012/2013(ish)? I feel as if it's phones and ease of access to the internet. That somehow branched off other retarded issues?
