Nearly finished now, i haven't nerded it hard but i've played a fair bit.

I am a halo fan boy, but i had very low expectations.. honestly this is probably the best campaign i've played since TW3, it's very nearly flawless

Not happy with this version of SWAT. 3 round burst rifle allows for too much “spraying.” Needs to be single shot so that precision is the focus.

I don't get how people say this. The gameplay is fun but the actual story is pretty underwhelming with all the stuff they left out and failed to explain. Basically the same biome and repetitive missions. The campaign was still decent but doesn't compare to the first 3.

Finished a heroic run the other day, thoroughly enjoyed the campaign but it’s def not gonna be as memorable as all the bungle campaigns story wise IMO. I did dun goof tho by not clearing all the fobs and saving all the squads in the beginning. Was also surprised and impressed with all the indoor levels. Might do another play through to get the legendary ending.

don't know what the hell happened, but now i'm getting like 30-50 fps constant video and audio shuttering. its unplayable now.. worked perfect before.. doing this in multiplayer too. it was buttery smooth before. every other game like warzone/apex/cyberpunk i load up works perfectly fine so i know its not a driver issue (latest drivers)

rtx 3070 with amd 3900x

googling solutions haven't found anything that works i'm about to uninstall and reinstall

Update on above post :

uninstalling the game and reinstalling did not fix it, but instead uninstalling MSI Afterburner fixed the issue.. weird because I did not even have it running, I only used it in the past for mining Ethereum. I wonder what is causing that issue with Halo.. Forza and the other games on game pass play just fine.

Had same issue and same solution with a 3080. Was spooking me thinking my gpu died :C

Game is so amazing so far, only on bassus fight with the drill thing, but easily some of the best gameplay I’ve ever experienced. Next closest would be mgs 5. Hopefully it keeps getting good and the story is decent

u bozos are losing ur mind. I just finished the campaign this past week. Incomplete story and you have no idea why they are even on the damn ring. Who are the endless? Who the hell is the harbinger? How did atriox die? How did cortona cure herself all of a sudden? Why are the banished and harbinger teaming up? Campaign abruptly ends without answering any questions. There are no variations in the environment. Even halo 1 had snow capped mountains, canyons, valleys, swamps, and covenant ships. This game has none of that. The main missions are endless hallways without any variety (puzzles, vehicular combat, leading marine squads). The open world activities are repetitive af and have no variations. How big was the check M$ sent to IGN and all these ph@ggot loving game "journalists"? Its an incomplete campaign with a grindy af multiplayer trying to nickel and dime you for any customization. Absolute shame. Anyone that gave this game higher than a 5/10 can GTFO. Im right, your wrong. ded fkn srs.

the whole "checks to journalists" thing really needs to die. You just didn't like the game.

This game won Players Choice GOTY at both the game awards and IGN. Purely player/non journalist input.

That being said, I would have loved more diversity in the environments, and found it to be the weakest aspect of the game.

My biggest issue with the environment was all the vertical aspects.

It was so tedious trying to bring a ground vehicle to objectives vs just grappling everywhere with a fully upgraded grapple. Like I could drive there with the marines in my warthog and it would take 10 min navigating thru rocks and mountains staying on the trail.... Or I could just grapple up the mountain in 30 seconds. It just sort of made vehicles kinda meh

If you don't know anything about the Halo storyline to this point, you can't call the story "stupid".

This is entry, 11(?) Into the SP campaign, if you don't know anything about 1-10, it'll be hard to follow.

Honestly, this disappointed me so much. Just seeing that the entire game revolves around one biome and the same looking areas and interiors was so damn disappointing, especially after the original trailer made it seem much more different. Although, given the development issues and the one year delay, I think just made that all into cut content, and since they said this game will be supported for years, you'll probably get some more diverse locations in the next couple months/years as dlc.

It's a little more palatable if you hijack a banshee or use a wasp at the FOV's

the game has many objective flaws as I mentioned. No way it can be warranted a 9/10. If you gave it that score, you are a paid off shill.

Game needs a desert biome. Think silent cartographer/the ark halo 3.

imagine giant ass sand dune mountains and rocky caves

And obviously a snow biome. assault on the control room/halo mission on halo 3

Scarabs in the style of halo 3 also need to be added. can you imagine how insane/awesome it would be to grapple onto one of them? it's a tragedy that still to this day halo 3 has had the biggest sandbox combat moment with the dual scarabs.

A weather system should definitely be implemented. rain, lightning, etc

this is the best halo campaign ive played. who knew an open world halo with upgrades and chit would work.

chit is fun af. im just going around doing side missions

playing on legendary so its somewhat challenging.

havent touched multiplayer
Look, i know i don't really know you and all, and i know you probably hear this like everyday, but your just so perfect to me. The few hours we talked were really great even if the convo was stale, your really pretty and chill, and your country thats just perfect :'D i really dont know how to explain it, but i think i have feelings for you somehow. i never felt like this with someone i just met, but i felt the need to get it off my chest. sorry for being all weird just idk how to explain it D:

Best gameplay ever, but hope in expansions they add more variety. All the indoor areas look the same and same with outside. They look really good though. I finished all FOBs and think I’m on last mission 9.5/10 imo

Yea, there are really just 3 themed areas: Pacific NW outdoors, Banished Interior, Forerunner Interior. I think they will do very different locales in expansions. The Halo ring is huge. And wondering if they can make any improvements if they choose to drop last gen support for future expansions.

That 2018 trailer is one of my favorite trailers. Just so beautiful.

I think they said weather is coming. The game definitely came in hot, but luckily was still good. Couldve been a battlefield/cyberpunk situation.

In the expansions, I hope they keep the same 3 musicians to do the OST. Gareth Coker is a god.

What difficulty was your guys first playthrough?

I wanted a little bit of a challenge and went heroic, but after i got used to the grapple i feel like im playing normal difficulty lol

I played the game after playing Halo 1 to 4 campaigns like crazy, and only playing the Halo 5 story once because it was azz

You essentially get dik smacked in battle and have to fly to the ring with your pilot boy because there's no other ships or way to get home.

Who are the endless? The Endless are an ancient race that was able to survive the firing of the Halo rings, and the Forerunners saw this as dangerous, so they locked them away on Zeta Halo.

Who the hell is the harbinger? We don't know much about her, but she looks to be one of The Endless, or at least an ancient representative on their behalf, and likely was mad that the entire race was locked away and safe guarded.

How did atriox die? Atriox did not die, he's still alive as he's about the release The Endless.

How did cortona cure herself all of a sudden? Cortana essentially uploaded herself to the Forerunner network, which cured her rampancy.

Why are the banished and harbinger teaming up?The banished want to destroy humanity because their creation, Cortana, blew up their homeworld. The Harbinger needs their help to free the endless, and essentially it's the enemy of my enemy is my friend relationship. The Banished want to fire the ring to humanity, and at the same time, free The Endless to join their army, to essentially rule the galaxy.

Campaign abruptly ends without answering any questions.
I also have gotten every achievement in the game except for the Elimination game based one, and the battle pass completion, which I should have done next week. Otherwise, I've beaten the game on every difficulty and got through LASO.
