Too many things to say but let's start with this. Can you tell me just 1 playoff serie where Jordan was the underdog and still manage to win? Just one please!

Obviously MJ was good, but the level of competition is far higher now with everyone maximizing their nutrition and lifting. That's why you need to compare by adjusting stats by era, then compare by their competition each year

Who is to say in the next 20, 30, 40, 50 years that there is somebody who could pass that? I'm sure when Kareem's career was finished there were a lot of people that thought his scoring total was unbeatable. But yeah, I think probably the biggest obstacle is longevity. Lebron is a one of a kind player but there will be players that are perhaps more talented in the future, combined with an offense-centric league who can have that longevity.Luka is actually gonna be behind Lebron's pace by a good 1200-1500 points at the end of the year. So Luka would have to make up ground he's already lost, while also playing for an additional 17 years averaging 28-29 points.
They already asked Luka if he would play 20+ yrs a couple weeks ago, and he just laughed and said "hell no".. he doesn't take care of his body right now, and is already breaking down in some stretches in his early 20's. There's no way he lasts another 12 years let alone 17+
But the biggest issue is gonna be load management. Today's game puts an immense strain on your body playing defense. I'm the past you didn't need to run the floor and cover the ground like you do in today's NBA. So most players will sit out games due to little injuries or even teams needing them healthy for playoff pushes

The game has completely changed. No team chemistry and barely any team play. Fundamentals? Who cares. Just carry the ball on every play multiple times and continue to travel with step backs that are unguardable. That's why the 3 ball has increased so dramatically.
Defense isn't even played anymore. So you can't compare Lebron to players in the past based on his scoring when those stats are mute anyway. There's far more indicators that show Jordan is the goat in almost every category when you account for percentages of your contribution to the team, not totals.

Jordan quit because he had reached the mountain top (6 championships) enough times and won every award you can win. He literally felt like he could win the title every year if he wanted. Lebron can't say that and keeps chasing the ghost because he knows himself that is a huge mark on his record vs. the greats. But above all, the display of him rolling around on the ground at his age and after 19 years in the league, just because he didn't get a foul call.......it was completely humiliating. I can promise you that none of the names mentioned in this thread of greats, would have ever acted a fool like that. He is the greatest "biotch" of all time.
This is also a really stupid comparison, considering that Lebron is now 4th in all time assists while Jordan is 47th. When Lebron passed Jordan he took far less shots when he did.
Complaining and whining to the ref after missing a wide open potential game winner. But hey he's Jordan so it's "competetive", when it's Bron it's complaining

Kareem played when the NBA was a contact sport. Lebron plays in an era where you get fouled for glaring at someone. Even basketball legends would pick Jordan over Lebron.

I guess the difference is this.
When I saw MJ play I was in awe. As in this guy is not human he is so good just based on talent.
Only other person I ever saw like that was #99 Wayne Gretzky.
Lebron is certainly dominant. But I have never been in awe of his talent. He was great because of his size and strength and speed.....but not super SUPER special like an MJ as far as pure talent.

Lebron ruined any chance of being considered GOAT by embracing flopping for points and making an already softer league just look ridiculous. I have zero respect for the NBA going the route it did and zero respect for Lebron faking fouls for points.
Can easily find Lebron flop compilation videos....you wont find the same for MJ.

But yeah, Jordan definitely had better handles. Which is to be expected, considering he's a guard and Lebron is a big
Although I will say Lebron's scoring isn't even his best quality as a player. His court vision/passing/playmaking ability is his best quality. He's not even a score first guy. So considering he's not a pure scorer like MJ/Durant, it's pretty crazy that he's going to be the all time leader in points
Also you need to consider that Lebron has played in a much tougher era. Jordan was the favorite in every Finals he went into with his super team Bulls, Lebron has been the favorite less than half the time. Jordan never had to compete with a team like the GSW who had multiple all stars + a stacked bench. His biggest opposition in the Finals was old ass Malone/Stockton. And he had Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc on his side
I agree that MJ still has to be the GOAT just due to sheer numbers/wins but there's a huge amount of context being ignored

Please remember that 80% of my posts about Lebron are hating on him. That being said, he's obviously one of the most skilled players of all time. The most obvious example of this is his 36-38 seasons are the best ever and no one would say current Lebron is an athletic freak. His defensive woes this year make it pretty obvious he physically struggles to keep up.
Lebron is obviously one of the best playmakers the game has ever seen. His basketball IQ, passing, and defensive manipulations make him comparable to Magic. Additionally, he's a highly efficient scorer who dominates in transition and the post. He's going to be all-time leading scorer as a playmaker. In addition to that, he is above average at dribbling and rebounding. Let's not forget he was elite defensively in his prime being able to legitimately guard 1-5. The only thing he is really bad at is free throws.

LeBron isn't a 9.5 player lol.. Dwayne Wade is a 9.5 player, prime AI, KG, Dirk.. LeBron is a 10/10 player
Also a lot of these comments about how MJ "was just different man, you had to be there" are literally just 90's babies reminiscing about their past.
MJ himself stated he'd have a completely different career if he played in the zone defense, when he lobbied against it... That same zone defense Bron won a scoring title and went to a finals with. MJ is lucky because Scottie was a moron with his contract, but more importantly that management didn't listen to a single thing that man said. Cause every player that he wanted was a negative and a detriment to the team.
He's one of the worst GMs in sports, and Jerry Krause told him to stfu and play ball cause all he wants to do is draft and play with UNC guys. He really played at the right time due to the expansion era and the lack of talent being dispersed even further
If he played in today's league, he would be terrible at suggestions to management, and would be a better DeMar DeRozan cause his midrange game would be elite but an atrocious 3pt shooter.

AD doing more but this goes to show how the media's brainwash y'all idiots lmao
proceeds to suck at rebounding, only makes 1 out of 2 free throws, AND potentially losing the game to the Pelicans. L O L

Lebron can't even beat the Pelicans and reach the scoring record in style with wins.. dude barely scrapes by, barging in and missing shots, getting FTs and making only one of them or missing them altogether.. but y'all wanna convince this is the GREATEST of all time... yeah, fukk no lmao

proceeds to suck at rebounding, only makes 1 out of 2 free throws, AND potentially losing the game to the Pelicans. L O L
