I guess it depends upon the circumstances on why the person is homeless and looking to receive money. i disagree with your wife's saying to your young son. Some people are just down and out on their luck, have poor health, or have mental health issues. Your wife isn't the only person that thinks that way though. I know of others than believe similar.

My parents like to give money and food to the homeless. It is more of something dad does. I'm not sure if mom would give while on her own. The homeless I believe scare her.

A big step that helped me in life, and could help others is to stop blaming things outside of my control and start focusing on what I can control. Even things outside of what I can control, I can control how I behave. I'm not perfect at it but at least I try. That's all I can do, but most people don't even do that. When something doesn't work out for me, inside my own head I think about questions to myself. What did I do wrong, why did I do that wrong, what flaw in my own processes led to this failure, what can I do differently? Even if it was someone or something else, how did I let that effect me?

I’ve always believed in giving fat people “fat tickets” when caught in the wild. Kind of like a speeding ticket. That should help keep these animals in shape.

I've just straight up asked some bums if they wanted drugs before and they were happy to receive it. Then there was also one time when I invited one along with me into the supermarket and let him pick one thing. Interestingly enough he picked one of those kid megapacks of chips/crisps with 12 little bags in them. Why? So he could hand em out to his fellow bums that day and be a nice guy to his friends. That was pretty cool actually.

When I used to buy liquor in the city sometimes I’d buy the bums a 40 or some shots they have it bad enough so who cares if they wanna drink? Also gave a few those pizza lunchables when they were on sale for 99 cents
