We need to cap the calories people can eat. The obesity crisis has gotten out of control. As a bonus it will also help the planet.

I know it sucks to work until retirement age, but then you'd be stuck on social security and it's hard to live on that income.
Everyone situation is different.

I live off a pension of $1k/mo and blessed by God. I just find places to sleep, food to eat, places to stay. I don't get it other than God has blessed me.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

There’s two sides of this coin

The people completely giving up are pussys

The younger generation is dealing with utterly insane inflation and other things older generations didn’t have to navigate while wages have stagnated or gone down in almost every industry

Anything else is the icing and cherry on the cake but the most basic social contract has been broken

I grew up without anything so maybe I was just raised different or my stress tolerance is higher but I don’t believe in just giving up

You still need to find something you’re passionate about in life and pursue it but sitting on mommies couch playing Xbox doesn’t count either

There’s no point in being a wage slave grinder either unless you find a career you’re truly passionate about because the juice isn’t worth the squeeze anymore

I had to explain the above to a few of my associates when they told me I’m insane for trying to become a police officer in todays climate

There’s no point in working for money anymore as long as you can skirt by

unless you’re in the top 1% of income now you’re probably living dollar to dollar and even having your own ****ty apartment is out of reach for most in my age group

Both the people heavily criticizing and the people being weak pussies are wrong

It’s a complex issue. Don’t know if I count as Gen Z or Millennial as I’ll be 26 in a few weeks so I’m on the cusp for both.

The job market is still better than that 2010 bullchit, so at least in that respect it's better. But everything else is pretty much worse.

Good friend is dating a girl that has a kid the same way, he crashes at his mom’s, different friends houses, his car once in a while, working dead end jobs & getting fired for being lazy constantly.

There is no drive with this generation. Most were spoiled at an early age & never reprimanded for bad behavior because their parents wanted to be their “friends” rather than a parent. We’ve removed God from our culture & as a result we are seeing exactly what we should expect to see.

HEBREWS 12:6-9

If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

That is so unfortunate. I'm only 35 but I am so glad I put in the work when I was in my 20's because It would certainly be an uphill battle at this point in my life to just be starting to try to get ahead and "grow up"

if you made every obese person stop eating and use up their energy stores you would probably cut overall emissions by 50%

There is nothing wrong with it inherently, if it wasn't that Deputy Dave acts like a pompous ass trying to chit on others in every thread, all while being a 50yo incel beat cop with no family at the same level as 20y/o recruits. How the **** does anyone save any money without working 70/hrs a week of overtime or 2 jobs ? My generation will work until we die because retirement and purchasing property is simply out of reach for us.

Agreed. The world is tough and unfair, been that way since the beginning of time. You have to find youre own worth and meaning or you got a pretty brutal life ahead of you. The world only makes sense if you force it to

You get so angry with these threads, like it's not frowned upon to be 30 and older and still living with mommy.

Then so many of you bitch about women nowadays, but to be honest, when women in their 20s look at the average 23 year old male, does the word, "Masculine, Strong, provider," come to mind?

If you're gonna sit at home, and be unemployed, and just play video games all day, while mommy pays your bills, then don't bitch about not getting any.

Same with the Great Recession. I wonder if there was a lot of whining on here during that time.

I remember it being depressing and scary. I still was able to find a part-time job during that time, but I also had a little child to care for.

This is a ridiculous premise, that people affected by a recession engineered by financial institutions gambling on mortgage securities must be "whining" if they express dissatisfaction at the outcome (which included bailouts for Wall Street and the abandonment of Main Street).

God’s got nothing to do with it. It’s government incentivized laziness, rampant inflation, stagnating wages, and gatekeeping/higher education requirements that are causing all of this.

I don’t blame a lot of kids for giving up. Especially if you’re not a materialistic person or you have good family you can love with etc. The government will take care of you otherwise.

I was never a lazy person. I’ve always outworked everyone around me. Why? Because I like having things. I’m not satisfied with a bare minimum existence. But a lot of people are, and we’re seeing the consequences of that. You know what my reward is for working hard? Taking on the work of the slackers and carrying their water too. I do it because again, I care about moving up and making more money, and it makes me look more competent. But damn if it doesn’t irk me just how lazy and disincentivized people are. I wish they’d just stay out of the workforce instead of pretending.

My point was to see if there was as much complaining on here during the Great Recession as there is now. I know who caused it.
