Now to your point about the Russian strategy invading Ukraine, it is perplexing depending on what you think their strategy was. When we drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait we had 600,000 troops in theater. Russia only had 200,000 troops in Ukraine. I think this points to a few things- Russia thought they could intimidate Ukraine into surrendering, they underestimated Ukrainian resolve, they were not prepared to take over the entire country by force.
After it became clear that they would have to fight, they refocused on the Donbass and achieved the objectives at hand but this also allowed NATO and the US to retool the Ukraine military.
Russia will win but not coming in with overwhelming force from the beginning cost them time, money and soldiers.

And yes they had more troops but iraq was also much better militarily then than ukraine was at the start of this war. Iraq had just finished winning a war with iran during the 80s (ironically with help from the US lmao), they had 1.4 mil active personnel, a shiet load of tanks and artillery, air defence systems, etc. It was at the time the fourth biggest military in the world.
My question here is why werent they able to do what the US did in iraq during desert storm/shield?
Why didnt they go on stealth bombing runs and follow up with large scale fighter air strikes? Why did they start with a ground invasion right off the bat? Why did they not provide infantry support for their tank crews?
It seems like so much went wrong for them during those initial weeks. Imo if did actually fix those things mentioned they would have taken kyiv.

If you remember, the US actually offered to fly zelensky and ukrainian officials out of ukraine because they thought it would be over quick.
Russia on paper should have been able to overtake ukraine just like US (plus coalition) took over iraq. Yes usa is better equipped, but iraq was also much better equipped than ukraine was.
They fukt up. Whether miscalculation from poor intel or just stupid strategy or some other reason idk, we will find out later.

Russian Drone easily defeats Norwegian-American NASAMS Air Defense System.
I guess even basic drones are SUPER STEALTH to NATO Air Defense Systems, LMFAO.
So Much American/Norwegian/NATO Taxpayer money wasted on USELESS JUNK, LOL
These CHITTY Ratheon Aim-120 C7 AMRAAM and Aim-9X missiles can't even shoot down a slow drone, how do they expect to be able to shoot down something like a Chinese J20 or J35 Stealth Fighter?

Wanna take a guess at how many ukrainian civilians have died as a result of this war by the russians youre claiming have been “playjng nice” lmaoooo
I know you hate the US as an iranian, i get it, but you gotta give it up to them for desert storm. Its probably the best planned and executed military operation ive ever read about. Fuking genius srs.
Ill find out eventually why the russians didnt or couldnt gain early aerial supremacy. Might just be like chalup said poor info, they provably really thought that dropping some airborne infantry into kyiv and rolling in tanks would do the trick.

The interesting thing about the ISIS campaign was that the US tacitly helped them. Obama had his draw down at the same time and gave them huge amounts of American weapons. The US also stopped the delivery of F-16 to Iraq, to allow ISIS breathing room to expand. Not to mention everythign the US did to help them in Syria.
Lets not also forget notable war crimes committed by the US:
- Shock and Awe
- The Battle of Fallujah (Americans encircled the city, cut off all media and reporters and killed everyone they could)
- Abu Ghraib
- Mahmudiyah rape and killings (American soldiers raped a 14 year old girl, the killed and burned the whole family)
I don't hate the US as an Iranian. I dislike the US because as they're losing power and we're moving to the multi polar world they're lashing out and causing war and chaos. I said long ago when Obama was in power that Obama was trying to start a conflict with Russia. He started the pacific pivot and the arms / troops build up around Russia. He basically instigated wars with both Russia and China. Interestingly when Biden gets into power the Obama agenda has been continued and now we see war and chaos in Ukraine.
As Putin said with his Golden Billion theory. A small part of the worlds population primarily based in the west want to maintain a system where the majority of the world is restricted from developing. The US is the prime instigator of this. Why cant everyone develop economically and have a good life? Why should the US restrict everyone?
The only reason you don;t care is because you benefit from this system. I also benefit from this system but I have the self-awareness to realise that and think it's only right everyone has the opportunity to develop and progress.
Russia is doing everyones dirty work. We can see significant legacies developing out of this war. the Russia - Iran Defense Pact. The Saudi break away from US control and the desire for more countries to move out of the US sphere of influence and develop the BRICS. Everyone is learning that the US wants to chit on the rest of the world to benefit themselves.
Desterm storm was a war against a much weaker country, witht flat terrain, with a degraded military, it really was nothing special.
Air supremacy is becoming a thing of the past. As I said earlier, if the US attacked Iran they wouldn't achieve Air Supremacy. Once a country has developed AD it becomes hard to achieve air supremacy. Iran has S-300, S-400 (incoming) and Bavar-373. Ukraine also benefits from having Russia made AD which is superior to American equivalents.

I have just been informed from the field that the Wagner PMC units have started to develop an offensive on Soledar from the south, from the direction of Bakhmutskoye village.
📌There have already been the first successes in the advance. A school building near the local village council has been taken under control, which other units could not storm for the past 4 months.
📌The company's efforts will apparently now focus on the destruction of the AFU grouping in and around Bakhmut and Soledar

The US went in ruthlessly and killed everything in sight. That's the reason for the difference.
If Russia started a war and went in ruthlessly they would have beat ukraine quickly. However playing nice and going in slowly allowed the Ukranians breathing room to put up more of a fight. There's nothing else to it.
There's a big difference in how you conudct a war when the people you're attacking are simialar to you, speak the same language and have historical ties compared to when you hate the people you're attacking and want to murrder as many as you can.
The Americans were absolutely blood thirsty during the 2003 Iraq war. It was disgusting.

The Americans have a history of being blood thirsy. When i went to the war museum in Ho Chi Min City, there was a whole floor dedicated to American war crimes. It's absolutely disgusting what the US did in Vietnam. Not to mention their use of Agent Orange. I literally had a conversation with severely disabled and disfigured victims of the US use of Agent Orange. Truly horrifying.
I took great pleasure in everytime a group of Americans were in ear shot stating "Americans are savages".

When there was an investigation into claims of torture, the US general investigating found that there was indeed torture going on, including torture of children on US bases in the middle east. His final determination was that this was being done as a matter of policy issued by higher ups and further investigation into their commanders was needed. The DOD responded by prosecuting the low level grunts on the base and calling it case closed.

Satellite capabilities make it possible for the US and nato to monitor roughly amount of troops Russia has in theater. I have not seen one Western source saying Russia had more than the declared amount so I assume that 200,000 is accurate. The only way Russia could suffer 100,000 KIAs if they had half a million troops in Ukraine from the beginning
