@bigdeeps you're 100% right about my drinking. It's been the biggest detriment to my life. I'm gonna pause my bench next time around. I'm weak off the chest. That's not something I'm insecure about. And 405 is not even remotely common.

Gary that thread was for bros to just talk about lifting and share their training but you ruined it with your insecurity. It’s not fake to call a spade a spade

Also just checked there are over 3700 recorded benches of 500+ on openpowerlifting dot org. That’s 500+ benches, I got tired of scrolling to get to 405. Now imagine how many at 405, now imagine all the random gym rats and bodybuilders and athletes that have hit 405 but have no desire to pay to compete in a powerlifting meet

For someone over 200 pounds that’s trained over 10 years it’s really not that hard to believe

Anyway I need to go to sleep I need to recovery from todays workout and then have a good cardio and rest day tomorrow and then bench 405 for a single on Mondays then two back off sets at 365 all paused

You went up way too fast with your weights and didn’t start low enough. If you think you can max 350 should have started with 4 sets at 225 then a second workout that week 4 sets of 230 etc

Runway too short, not gonna peak at a very good weight

You should ask volleys for bench advice he posted videos

Went up too fast then should be 5 pounds a session throughout the whole volume phase

You should be way higher than 305 for sets of 5-6 or whatever you did should bebhittibg 305 for sets of 8+ easy

But what do I know I probably don’t even lift
