Then post your aluminum pole with a gun in front of it. I’d hate to go on a negging rampage right before Christmas.

I have a tree pic, but no gun in it. Give me a day or so. Your photo is a pretty tough act to follow…

Once I get mine up no one will be intimidated anymore.

My grandpa introduced me to reloading when I was a teenager using a kit like this from Lyman:

A year ago, we cleaned out his house when he moved to assisted living and I kind of wish I'd spoken for it. It way overworked brass, and I'm fully outfitted with better tools, so I doubt I'd have ever used it, but still. What do you want to reload? It's a good hobby. You can save money if you shoot a lot and don't get carried away with tools - I doubt I do. It opens up a lot of flexibility to try out components not readily available in factory ammo. It's not hard, but you do have to pay attention to what you're doing. Now is a tough time to get started. Components (primers in particular) can be hard to find, and costs are inflated. If you're completely new I'd get a good manual along with whatever tools you get.

Bros with Glocks and Holosuns. What are you doing for the mounting screws?

I was talking talking with Primary Arms rep that I want to send my slide to get milled to mount HOLOSUN HE507C-GR-X2 PISTOL GREEN DOT SIGHT - ACSS VULCAN RETICLE on a G5 Glock 19. His response was you can send your optic to the shop or tell them you want the 507C RMR cut…But that since there is no standard with pistols it’s likely the holosun nor RMR screws would work.

Wtf I’m not trying to use a screw that’s too long and grenade my slide/gun. Nor do I want the optic loosening or fall off. Is this complete guess work with having to trim off some threads and hope the screw will still thread in properly/securely?

No worries. Battle Werx will send you the correct length screws for the optic you are using. Email or call them, they will set you straight.

Nice….I was considering BattleWerx or Jagerwerks. Hopefully turn around isn't too bad.

Is it better to send the optic to them with the slide? If you do it this way, do they mount the optic so its g2g?

Experience with BW "black DLC" recoating? Same as black nitride coating? As good/better than OEM?

As for iron sights I'm debating. Thinking I should so get the supressor height for co-witness in the event the holosun decides to have a bad day. What's a good size iron sight to run with this optic? Go with lower 1/4? Assuming co-witness is easier using Ameriglo sights that are a different color than green since my Holosun will be green.

I'm dead set on the holo. Was thinking going iron-less. But like the idea of a permanent plan B.

Won’t say you wouldn’t ever need them but I’ve never bothered with pistol BUIS. I have a dedicated no electronics pistol but do carry a p365xl with a dot and no buis occasionally.

Don’t even use rifle BUIS cause Aimpoint don’t die

Do not send the optic if you choose Battle Werx. I'm sure Jager is the same.

Expect a month for cut and coating if you go with Battle Werx. I've heard Jager can take longer.

I had suppressor height sights, but switched back to stock because they were in the way too much for me.

Loving the new setup. This is the best one yet. .308 Ar10 with a Trijicon 3.5x35 Acog in the green horshoe. Unbelievable performance. This optic in insanely good. Clear glass, best eye relief, durable as hell and versatile - can be used for short, medium, or even long range..Only other thing I need is a sling and suppressor. Will rep someone who tells me which mount I need to attach a sling to an AR10…is it a qd mount?

The rail and stock both appear to have QD points already. Here is a good QD sling mount:

BattleWerx as significantly faster and seems equally good

Reliability
We expect the 2023 Tundra will be less reliable than the average new car . This prediction is based on data from 2022 models.

Only 1 Pickup Truck Is No Longer Recommended by Consumer Reports

Consumer Reports sends an Annual Auto Survey to owners to gather reliability data about popular cars, trucks, and SUVs. The survey asks about issues that might have popped up in the last year and covers 17 aspects of vehicle ownership. Unfortunately, the 2023 Toyota Tundra pickup truck is no longer recommended by Consumer Reports for next year. What happened to this full-size truck’s reliability?

Toyota Tundra is the only pickup truck not recommended by Consumer Reports

I'm feeding the cow. Here's the story from another post:

The cows get conditioned to it and come running when they see us out gathering apples. My sister was visiting with her kids and one of her boys was trying to feed an apple to a cow but would get nervous and drop it before the cow could get ahold of it. I wanted to show him there was nothing to worry about so I told him, "watch this", and put an apple in my mouth. Somebody had a camera handy. Cows are pretty friendly if they've been around people and treated gently. Just a warning, they do have bad breath.

ETA: And watch out for their tongues, they are super long. The offside of my face was covered in cow slobber.

Hornady manual is good. I have an older version. A single stage press is great if your focus is bolt action precision. If you need something higher volume, a turret press is the next step. That's what I would want for loading 223/9mm. A full progressive is the next step faster for more $$$. A turret press meets my needs just fine.

Thx brah. Just ordered one. Reps on recharge.

As for your last reply, I did go ahead and order the UTG mount that I posted. Going to post results to see if it holds a zero. It had a 4.7/5 review so just risking it. Didnt like the Aero mounts as much

As for some other gear that just came in…These Eagle Industries DMR Sniper Pouches are amazing!! Also got 2 medical pouches for my kit on the way

Why do you say don’t send the optic with the slide? This was they have no reason to not get it milled 100% correct

They don't need the optic to mill it correctly.

You think they are going to measure this optic vs a different optic of the same model and like reprogram their machine based on a two micron difference or something?

I mean maybe someone does that but, really, fear of installing it yourself and them installing it for you if you send it is the only real reason I can see (and don't be afraid to install it yourself just use the excuse to buy an inch pounds torque wrench if you haven't already, Vortex or Wheeler the Vortex goes lower all the way to 10 inch lbs)
