Save the Reverso for when you are older, as I think it is a very mature watch. Take that as you will.

How about an IWC Portuguese or Omega Planet Ocean? So many good watches with your budget.
Have owned many watches in the 3-5k range. Wanting to step up a bit. Owned a subc for a while and loved the fit and finish on it. I don't worry about the reverso being too mature/elderly looking, I love it.

This screams Rolex to me. As you know ExpII used are a steal, very cheap for what they are. Explorer II, BLNR or SD4000 like you previously mentioned would get my vote, obviously the latter two over the budget somewhat. Rolex oyster bracelet is too damn comfortable not to have!

EDIT: Or even LVc? Black speedy, blue pelagos, green sub

My daily Halios Tropic Bronze is fooked, had 3 days off work and it wound down and now the kunt stops at the 45sec mark… I'll be phucked if i'm going to have a $700 watch serviced a SECOND time in 2 years so i guess the hunt is on for a new daily.

Want to stick sub $500 this time as I'm saving for other things at the moment (boo…. hiss). I really like the look of that black face Mako a couple of posts up but i think it's not made in the girly size my wrists demand (sub 42 or i look like Flava Flav).

Buy my Orient! It's 46mm, but wears sleek due to the design…

Number one on the list PAM 372. Bright owned it. Loved it, but sent it back because it had some issues. Would buy this one new for around $7,000. I want a panerai so bad…

Wasn't terribly impressed the first time I tried a few reversos on, but now I've got a hankering for one again. Have always loved it. I have no dress watches and it's the quintessential one for me. I love the duoface because it's basically two watches in one!

Love the polar explorer. Doesn't scream Rolex to me, and the mix of white, orange, and black on the dial is perfect. An awesome sports watch with an amazing bracelet. Best bracelet in the business imo.

I'm torn. Gonna keep my Tudor pelagos in blue and maybe my speedy. Starting fresh otherwise.

Just snagged this one over the holiday, always been a fan of the skeleton style watches and had my eye on this one for quite a while.

Not really a dressy watch and perhaps not the particular style many here are keen to, thoughts?

I agree, Breitling are too bling, or the dials are way too busy, but that one is just right.

My Orient is the sat diver, the os300. It's 46mm, built like a brick **** house. It has an in house movement with power reserve complication, 5.5mm sapphire, excellent lume, amazing ceramic coated bezel, ratcheting bracelet, oem rubber. It's a first gen, non-hacking, and it's my daily wear, so it's got a few minor swirlies, but the price reflects that. It'll take anything you can give it, they're $1k new but worth $2k, lots of engineering goes into these.

PM me your cell if you want more pics. /nohomonostalker I'm only selling because I want the white dial version. I love this thing.

You listed the older model two tone sub with hollow links and alumunium bezel insert. You mentioned your max is $10k. I think you should get a NEW watch to commemorate your achievements as a NEW one can be had near your max budget.

However, I highly encourage you to get the black dial variant as blue looks rather tacky and casual for my liking. Do try them on and do consider NEW.
Thanks man. I was considering getting a used one before to save a few bucks, but I definitely agree with you on getting a new one instead especially because of the double milestone. The price of used ones in great condition aren't that much cheaper than brand new, and getting a new one comes with a 5 year warranty according to an authorized dealer that I just met with.

I actually really like the blue dial and that's why I picked it. Blue is my favorite color and one of the colors of my alma mater. The watch also pretty much matches my undergrad school ring perfectly. I've already seen and tried on the blue dial Submariner in person and will continue to check out/try on more and research prices until August or sooner when I hope to pull the trigger.

Their prices are basically what I can get new after VAT-Back, except I could get it as brand new from the AD. So I would definitely make a counter offer and not just accept their listed price.

Another thing for you to consider is that if this is your only watch (since you said youre not a watch enthusiast), you may not want a gold watch (or even a 2-tone). But its all up to you.
I will give the sites that you mentioned a look and continue doing research on prices. I do agree that most of the "Trusted Sellers" prices are a bit outrageous. I went to an authorized Rolex dealer on New Year's Eve who showed me a brand new one listed at $13,400. They said they could take 10% off bringing it down to $12,060. An old co-worker of mine has a friend that owns a jewelry store and said he could do $11,750. After I went silent, his friend said that he would beat any price that I was offered, so we shall see. The closer I can get to 10K from anyone, the better for me.

I have two basic watches that are nothing fancy or expensive at all. One gold and the other silver in color. I don't like wearing watches all the time, and rarely wear them unless it's a special occasion, event or interview. I do prefer gold though and have a gold school ring and chain/crucifix. Plain silver and white gold just don't do it for me.

That's a silly price for a full titanium case/band with a decent movement.

Are you aware of the silly bracelet issues? There is/was a question as to whether it was the same grade ti as the case, because the color was different, and it had a steel clasp (again, a different color). Shoddy. Love the look and price, though. You can always check out the Tempest Commodore for $630.

Resolved apparently, the only thing that has me worried is the lack of curve making it wear larger than it should.

if you are looking at a titanium watch with a good movement look at the seiko shogun. many people claim that its the best bang for your buck watch you can get and its about 800 bucks. its has a diashield technology on it which seems to be sme kind of scratch resistant coating that seiko applies.

i doubt its a different grade. most machined titanium products are grade 5, i dont think they would use a different Ti for the case as they did for the bracelet, but the clasp being stainless steel would cause a difference in color. titanium is more grey then silver when brushed, where as stainless has a whiter, blue-er, look to the material.

source: working industry of structural and machinable metals.

the biggest downside to the steinharts in my opinion is the flatness of the case, even tho its only a 42 mm case which should wear fine on my 7.25" wrist, its still sits awkwardly because of the flat case and lugs. personally for the money i would say that Squale offers a better case shape, and over all finish on the bracelet, etc, for about 1-200 bucks more.

Imagine how i feel with 6.5" wrists; looking at the size of it on the wrist of people with a good inch on mine has really put me off. TBH I'm not sure wtf I'm going to do, I was considering a pilot/aviator but i cant' really find anything i like sub 1k so i might just buy a ****ty fashion watch for $50 to keep me functional until I find something I like.

not sure who or why. please name the companies who use grade 2. its an inferior grade of titanium, in strength, and hardness, which means it scratches/pits easier, but is slightly less corrosive, its also about half the cost which is probably the biggest reason its used by watch manufacturers. 90% of people dont give a **** what kind of titatnium it is, and they probably charge the same price for grade 2 as they would if they used grade 5. i would expect most higher name brands to use grade 5 as its a superior metal particularly in this application.

yep. i never wear mine on the oyster bracelet it came on for that reason, it just sits wierd. not as bad on a nato, but still tall. ideally a 2 piece traditional strap may allow it to sit better, but may still be insanely wide on your wrist.

@evade how do you like the way the steiny you picked up sits on your wrist btw?
