I'm down to $560 shipped, or $550 this weekend, no extras (SAN SAMPLES ASIDE! ). Let's do it!

Been a while since I've posted. Hope everyone is doing well in the new year.

Just wanna get some feelers out there. Would anyone here be interested in buying a full size Quartz Seamaster with an over polished bracelet, signs of wear and no box or papers? I had no intention of holding on to it as long as I have but I've grown attached. I'm debating on selling it.

I've sold most of my watches. Meeting a local tomorrow to sell that steinhart. After that it'll just be my marathon, a citizen ecodrive, that omega and of course my beloved speedy.

Edit: evad3, would rep for koala tea post but on spread

if it's blue, keep it. Quartz SMP is the ultimate tool watch

What are people wearing today?

Currently (Only just realised the pip is off-centre lmao, oh well!)

Gonna swap over to this for my nan's 70th birthday meal tonight

All I have at the moment, if 2016 is good to me I may add a 3rd piece with a little colour (BLNR? 16710 Pepsi?)

Busch how's the job? Any more thought on the upcoming piece?

Mirin Sub. Unfortunately I tapped into my Sub fund to buy the SMP, and I'm currently considering a 3577.50 Speedy.

On top of that, I'm saving for a Summer cruiser :

That colour combo is notoriously difficult to acquire - and they're ludicrously expensive, and so I may have to "settle" for the alternative:

The Mrs and I are looking forward to the odd cruise down the pier!

Don't settle, the blue one looks like something a secretary would ride…. cream and leather instantly gives thoughts of riding down the Italian coastline with some long haired HBB Italian school teacher on the back clutching her sandals in one hand and the other arm around your waist…

Lel, I can see where you're coming from.

Sadly, my other half isn't a "long haired HBB Italian school teacher"… But she'll do.

That's awesome! From Brighton? I used to have a scooter when I was 16 (just to buzz about on), definitely good fun in the summer and super cheap to run!

Haven't started just yet. I start in about a week and a half. Once I start I can cash out my benefits from my current job and I'll put that towards my new piece. I'm heavily leaning towards a Panerai. No matter what I do I can't stop lusting after one. I'd probably follow that up with a reverso and another Rolex in time.

That no date sub is gorgeous and your pics make me miss mine. The BLNR is my current favorite Rolex, but my gf says I can't buy it. She wants to get it for me when she's through with med school/residency, only 6 more years of waiting . I was wearing a batman onesie when we met so we think it will be fitting.

I'm tempted to work like 60 hours a week just to put extra into my watch fund…

I like both of those pics.

As for the 2016 goals. The blnr is nice, the 16710 Pepsi will wear a bit smaller and could add some diversity with the red and blue, especially with the diversity offered by the different leather and bracelets that compliment the blue/red combo. since the steiny and the sub you have are primarily black.

Diggin that leather strap on the steiny too. Looks good.

Purchased a solid senter link Jubilee with hollow end links (since they need to be matched to fit), for my Pepsi GMT Steinhart. Maybe I'll hold onto it for a bit since it fits much better with this bracelet:

The ******* capital, yes. A terrific, lively place to be during the Summer. (no homo)

Rode the sh*t out of a 50 (technically 49) back in college. As you say, good fun and cheap as chips to run!

Off topic: where did you get that leather strap (Steinhart) from? Wanting a black leather strap to pair with my SMP, Goldeneye style:

Yeah, sounds like you have the bug for a Panerai and you know that will only end with a purchase aha. Oh lord, 6 years a lengthy wait. Pick up the BLNR and hope for the Pepsi to be released within 6 years, wear a red/black onesie around and keep fingers crossed lmao. But that's awesome, hopefully the job goes OK.
I'm working some overtime tomorrow so will stick that into the watch fund. Trying to focus on a possible house purchase this year so skimping a little.

Yeah, I definitely need some colour, the BLNR is probably what I'll most likely go for next because the used 16710's are so damn expensive now and I much prefer the ceramic with upgraded clasp. And as you say, the additional size on the maxi case is a plus for me, love the way the 40mm case wears.

That steinhart looks pretty awesome on that jubilee, is perfect for the pepsi GMT's. Can maybe keep hold of it for a bit and see if it grows on you, Steinhart seem to hold their money very well on the used market so no harm in holding onto it for a while.

That's cool, I'm just along from you in Portsmouth, I used to work in Worthing too!

Lol, the 49cc's where fun to bomb about on, used to go down the beach in just a pair of shorts ragging the moped (55mph top speed lmao). BRB no skin if you fell off.

This strap came with the watch, it's a vintage brown with a steinhart deployment clasp, 22mm - 18mm taper. I'm not entirely clued up on where to pick up decent leather straps, this is actually the first leather strap I've ever owned!

In this type of persons case, 10 Steinhart Vs 1 Rolex? Which would they enjoy more and which would you say encompasses the traits of a person with the hobby?

I think in general there's no right or wrong answer and it's an interesting topic for sure!

NICE ONE ARCHIE
In my opinion, that's probably not really any different from the sort of low IQ people who buy all the yeezys or a new iPhone every year. The whole thing about watch collecting that sets this apart from the other materialistic things people can buy is that the heritage, craftsmanship, and actual worth of the products is genuine (well maybe some companies like rolex and omega up prices, but second hand still hold their value).

Just saying what I feel is pretty much the truth, not trying to bash anyone.

I beg to differ on people who buy an iPhone every year having a low IQ; they may just like technology and Apple products (just like someone who likes horology and **insert brand name** watches). I guess it depends person from person, but I personally don't see anything wrong with someone owning a watch worth less than $1500. I'm sure someone on a Ferrari forum is mocking us peasants with a sub $50,000 car

Been rockin the Sinn 144 St Sa since I got it in July. Love it. Accurate AF and built like a tank. It's a little too sporty to wear with formal attire but other than that, it wears great.

No idea in all honesty, they are such good value on the used market. The EXPII is exactly the same as the GMTc, just obviously the non-rotatable bezel and differing aesthetics. Same movement as far as I'm aware. I think they often get pushed to the side in favour of a GMT/Sub but the ExpII's are every bit as much watch

ExpII is on my to-buy list, after the Sub. Never let go of that beauty, Evad3!

It has its own charm, but is every bit as Rollie . I concur.

Off topic: Spoiler!
Importing from India (and let me tell you) is currently my best bet for acquiring my "goal" Vespa. They even offer the original kick-start models! Tempted.

There is a UK dealer that has two cream/brown [automatic] models in stock, but they're only 49s. That might be more than sufficient, though; it's just to cruise 'round in. As much as I'd like to, I don't see myself going over 30 'round the town.

Probably because it's not blinged up so appeals more to the true watch enthusiasts and less to the "I'm doing well and want to show off, I should buy a flashy watch" kind.

Stuck between buying a Tudor Big Block chrono (poor man Daytona)

Or an Explorer II.
Things are cheap as hell compared to subs and IMHO way closer to what a tool watch should embody.

Gonna sell a part off the collection off first.

That's a damn rough decision. Having owned a big block, I can say it's unlikely you'd regret that decision. There were moments where I debated keeping it instead of my speedy.

My uncle has that one now, bought it from me, and I've debated offering to buy it back.

On the flip side, I've always wanted to try out an explorer.
