newest entry to my watch collection:

Vostok amphibia with a ministry case; maybe one of the most interesting watches i have had in a long time, especialy design-wise. The watch itself doesnt work like your average diver, the pressure resistance rises as you dive deeper with it. Like with most russian items, this watch is definately not a beauty but rather a kalashnikov, it always works and thats it, but this is the charme about it i and i kinda dig it

Obligatory wristshots:

Rocking the watch on a hirschstrap

been hearing this alot but mine is pretty acurate so far, like maybe a couple secs +/- a day. On the other hand this is still a watch that costs like 70 bucks so for that price you shouldnt be expecting too much but you will be surprised by the case-finishing, can easily compete with low price seikos

looks pretty good on that strap. as i mentioned in the cp, mine is old and has tritium that barely glows anymore, but it has patina'd nicely. and it looks really kick ass when i hit it with a black light lol.

as to the hmailton pictured is a khaki field chrono auto in 38mm, w/ leather. edit: model is H71466733

i think mine keeps decent time, within a 30 seconds a day, but the power reserve isnt very good. lasts about a day on full wind, and its manual only and no quick date set, if it falls behind for 5 days or more, i usually just throw it into my box until what ever day it reads of the next month.

(protip: wind it back and forth from 9 pm to 12:05 am, and the date will change each time.

Nice one bro, looks tough/masculine but formal with a nice suit.

Top 5 laundry detergents in the game (don't judge my opinion):

1.Tide (delivers a clean and fresh style of)
2.Oxi clean (attacks dry stains like a monster)
3.all (deserves a spot in the top 5 but not the best)
4.wisk (I respect the stain spectrum tech. But needs to fight harder for that top 3)
5.purex (up and coming in the game)

Personally wouldn't wear a monster with a suit. Just too much of a tool watch. Other divers can pull it off, but I think the monster is too far to the tool side. Cool watches though.

Yeah, wont be wearing it with a suit - completely agree. Literally using it for diving haha.

Scouting a nice vintage omega atm to throw on daily with a suit tbh. Holding out for a nice connie or similar.. HNNNG

anybody knowing a modern brand that makes racing style chronographs? like these for example:

definately cant break the bank to buy myself a vintage autavia like the ones in the pics. i thought about buying a autodromo prototipo but after reading reviews about it i lost interest, mainly because of the quartz-movement. i just could not bring myself to buy a watch for more than 600 dollars if it's a quartz, unless we talk about a high end quartz watch like a sinn ux.

yeah but most (imo at least) fail to catch the spirit of the vintage pieces and look rather modern. my dad was like: "well buy yourself a racing speedmaster" but these have the exact modern look i dislike

I'm looking into a watch with mechanical movement, orient bambino fits my budget perfectly. It's a watch that goes with anything I think, whats your guys opinion on this one? I'm gonna buy the second one with a brown leather strap I think.

I never said that. This person said they wanted to have a luxury watch, and $1,000 isn't a luxury watch. That is a rule, just saying it how it is. Back OT:

They said they wanted a nice watch. Nowhere was "luxury" mentioned. If someone is looking for feedback in regards to a watch in the $1,000 price range, telling them to spend $5,000 isn't useful or helpful feedback in any way.

inspired me to wear mine today, I really don't know the history of it, a buddy who is actually a miscer who I met online said it was in his desk and had been for years, he sent it to me last April/may. It's a komanderskie with no lume second hand, o ly distinguishing feature or how I can tell the difference. Between the others. The tritum is patina'd and yellow. It's probably worth 35 dollars but I wear it once every few weeks and enjoy it when I do, despite the smaller diameter case. Today was one of those day:

I've posted it many times before. I always find it kind of quirkey that they put the red portion of the bezel behind the 12 o'clock marcker vs infrom like many Japanese and Swiss watches. It makes sense toe to have it here, so I think it's kind of cool.

Edit: holy **** I just reread this and its riddled with typos. Posted it from mobile. What can I expect.

Just LOL. Reds gonna red.

I also find it highly amusing that the guy belittling someone just getting started out as a "guy that wants a Swiss watch to impress people without knowing anything about it" posts a watermarked picture of himself wearing a watch from a company that has zero history and that was saved from bankruptcy a whopping 30 years ago because Biver arbitrarily inflated the price and convinced a bunch of celebrities to wear them.

never quite understood why a dive bezel has the first 15 or 20 minutes marked instead the last portion like ob the vostok watches, makes no sense IMO. i researched quite a bit and your vostok is actually and old soviet one, hence the burned out tritium and CCCP marking on the dial. definately a cool piece

Since the minute hand reaching the bezel lume dot is when you will begin your ascent, the next 15 minutes (or 20 minutes) on the bezel are for decompression timing while ascending.

Don't care about the engineering in that, it's an abomination and needs to be burned along with anything to do with it.
