Sometimes bad chit just happens and nothing you can do.

Def not super worried about home invasion cause don’t live in ghetto but also need to take basic measures to protect yourself and family in case of worst case scenario.

Which is why i said there has to be lines of defense , you can't realistically expect to be safe from harm if you don't invest in your own saftey i.e alarms, camera, firearms, self defense training, dogs, dead bolts, locks etc.

And definitely ^ that

You can't control 100% of everything everywhere at all times, it's not realistic but you can reduce the chances.

“What’s this issue”, you say? Well, here’s the thing — you can safely shoot .223 out of a 5.56 barrel without a problem because the Remington round has less pressure that military 5.56 rounds do. The caveat is that you’ll supposedly lose some accuracy but that loss is negligible to the average shooter not doing any precision or competition shooting. If you flip it the other way though, you could potentially have a serious problem.

I realize everyone reflexively decided "lolz Linux said it so I have to take the opposing position." But what percentage of firearms instructors would ever teach the mindset of "you'll probably have more time than you'll need."

Regarding home vs away- you're hand-waving away all the scenarios where that doesn't work. If one person is outside of the home while anyone else is home, you can't use "home" mode. I go to my office and work late after the wife goes to bed all the time. People have older kids that go out at night. Etc.

Are you able to buy 33 round mags living in CA?

Like say for example you buy the mags off a private seller, and that private seller ships them to your door

lol, my favorite quote.

Gun stores can’t send Mags to calif set up for more than 10 rounds. A private seller can, theoretically. For my ARs I use a 10/30 mag. It’s a 30 set up to hold 10 however it takes about 30 seconds to “fix” it. Those you can get in calif. an AR with a normal 10r mag looks dorky.

Now we have this upcoming ATF rule banning pistol braces. JFC….

So your wife wants a gun under her pillow because when you are in the office working late you are incapable of setting the alarm to Home?

lol k

Older kids who go out at night? There are these things called phones. You can use them to disarm the system before opening the door. From the outside. You should try it sometime.

the ruling will come in Feb. now. Lawsuits are already ready to go. The ATF can’t make laws, only rules. Buy the gun now in case they do the ban as if it goes through you won’t be able to get a brace or buy a brace now from KAK or someone. They fit right over a milspec buffer tube

There are millions of pistol braces out there so good luck.

The US Constitution says it's legal,
What's the saying, I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

That being said, you better be trained up like many are suggesting. Not just trained on how to land targets, but trained on when force is legal. One small little factor could change the way you a judge by 12, so train frequently on knowing what situations you would be justified in practicing your 2A rights.

Most people when they get in trouble it's from doing stupid stuff like branding their firearms in an act of intimidation.

Imo you should only draw (as a citizen) when you plan on eliminating the threat.

I agree

But on the other side of the coin if brandishing your weapon and it results in the threat being neutralized without firing a shot isn't that considered the same as what is in bold?

IMO it's not good practice to brandish a weapon to deescalate a situation.

In some case it may work but as a citizen it not in my authority to exercise such practice.

if I were in the role of a LEO or a soldier I would have a different opinion.

You want to practice good memory muscle not practice something that could end you up dead or in jail.

The Dems continue to pursue their own narrative as far as what the 2A actually means. The rulings up for consideration must be stopped or within time, all of 2A will be abolished. It's a slow but methodical ban on all firearms. If you pull the trigger you better be prepared for an avalanche of legal issues in most states.

If this is the case, you'd better call the police and report the situation/event immediately. Certainly before the other guy does and says you brandished a weapon. You wouldn't have a fun time in court.
