I've been tracking nutrition since I started lifting with a trainer. I never thought I needed it…. he's like,"I bet you're not getting in as much as you think you are…" Sure enough, I was lacking in every caregory–most improtantly, calories. It's really helpful.
I just use My Fitness Pal (free version)

The way I see it is…. Why work your ass off in the gym, just to let it go to waste by not being in a surplus/deficit?? This way you can control another factor involved with reaching your goals/progress, whatever it may be.. and you can hold yourself accountable.

I'm trying to maintain my weight and lower my BF, ordered calipers. Apparently it's near impossible to do this because you are building muscle while losing fat. I'm not buying that it's impossible but we'll see.

I'm not disciplined enough to track my macros. I've tried numerous times and end up doing a half-ass job so I finally quit. Luckily my metabolism is still good for an old man and don't need to worry about what I eat. Just a matter of time I suppose until the day comes when I start becoming fat.
