Unplugged it sounds great!

It arrived yesterday, so I let it sit in the case and box for ~30hrs. Now I'll do a string change, get the plastic off, and plug 'er in!

Have you ever ordered any used guitars from proaudiostar.com (other than the "open box" squiers)? Im thinking about picking up a used JS32 but don't know what kind of condition it would be in.

That is gorgeous as is the case. Really like that crushed red velvet lining lol.

So now that I've become master of the Strat I'm looking at Teles. What is the deal with them? Are they mostly renowned for having a clean country sound?
What am I getting from a telecaster that a stratocaster can't do?

The tele is definitely the guitar that I think of when I think of country guitar, but it can do much more than that. There's something about the tele bridge pickup and that bridge plate that gives it a different sound, especially with the 3 saddle bridge IMO. I still love my strats but there's just something about the tele. You can mimic a strat with a tele and vice versa but each does it's own thing

Howdy big….

I've had my tele (in avatar) since 1979.
Being a rhythm player/song writer it's the only one axe I've ever needed.

To me that "something" is it's versatility.

Just my nickels' worth.

Have a good one….

Hmm, I think I might have to get one of those Custom Vibes in tele format. Been loving the strat version.

Howdy Big….

Ahhhh….no.
It's a '77 Ibanez Silver Series.
It plays very well.

Back in 1994 I had the original pickups replaced with Seymour Duncans per recommendation.
But TBH….I don't know shvt about pickups so I would be at a loss in a conversation about them….I would just listen and STFU.

Thanks for asking….have a great weekend everyone.

For what reasons? I scalloped a guitar from 1-24 and played it for years. Definite pros and cons, but doing otherwise impossible things (e.g., double and 2.5 step bends on the 2nd fret of the G string with the 1st finger on a regular set of 10 gauges) can be cool. Most people who want a scalloped board have a misconception of what the benefits are and find it to be meh.

I played a few when I worked in Guitar Center and loved them. Especially for bending notes and vibrato.

Also my picking technique has gotten really sharp lately and I'm into playing the Yngwie stuff so I want the strat so I can really feel like Ii'm a swedish virtuoso who hates fukking donuts.

They are known for their clean tones. Unforgiving means that they’re the type of amps that will really pronounce any errors you make while playing.

Maybe you could buy a Blackmore or Malmsteen neck for your strat. If you change your mind you could take it off and sell it

Yeah, that's basically it. Although I never did it, would work better with 8's so you can get whole step bends by pushing straight down into the fingerboard. That would be true Yngwie style.

I did mine with sandpaper and a few files on the weekends my first year in college on a guitar I didn't care if I fukked up. Wound up turning out killer.

I'm not really into neck swapping, I'd just buy the Fender Malmsteen and then just re-sell it if I didn't bond with it. Scalloped fretboards really are cool although I probably wouldn't have one as my primary guitar, it's just for playing neoclassical chit lol.

There's a certain chimey/chunky thing that only a tele seems to do. The bridge style and string through body just does something cool.

I don't play country, but I'm digging this tele for percussive funky stuff (Can't Stop by RHCP).

The neck on this one is perfect for me. Kind of between my modern strat and R8 LP.

Now I want an AO strat!

20+ year old Ibanez acoustic, natural finish. perfect finish and sound, Son was playing for his GF and nicked it on the corner of a table.

I liked having a perfect guitar, she sounds just fine of course.

I looked at having the chip repaired but I think I'm just gonna have him sign it and move on.

Your thoughts please, it was pretty annoying watching that bang into the desk.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

I've had only beat up campfire guitars in my 35 years of playing, just kinda felt like I deserved a perfect instrument after all that time.
