Why are you getting so defensive over this?
When half of what you save, is only saved because you live at your moms apartment, it's easier to understand why you live there. Not that I would do it, but still.
Some people make more money than you, and because of that they are able to live independently while saving. Some people value living in their own place and being independent more than you, and while earning the same amount of money, they still chose to move out.
There's no reason to, basically, call people who don't live at their parents house "fukkin stupid LMFAO". Chill out.

Anyone in their right mind would rather live on their own, but you dont know anybodies situation aside from a few words we write on here. I also have equity in my mothers house, its in here name but I have equity in it. When its time to sell, I have a nice pay day coming my way.

yeah well dinner for two and cocktails is easily a $80 - $140 night. multiply that by 2 nights a week, and you're easily talking a mercedes car payment. haven't read the thread but know the point opee is trying to make and wish i had known it earlier in my life.
living frugal, or at least below your means frees up soooooo much life stress.

this is what you pay taxes for and 6 months of help isnt shameful in the least. single guys can easily qualify for 200/month.

Quite often it's nothing to go in there and find business clothes for work (I.E. Polo, Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Tyritt) etc shirts with tags still on them for 4 or 5 bucks. It's the wasteful people that go and replace their entire wardrobe every season regardless of whether they've worn it or not that made it worth it. Would slide one of the workers a little something to put a lot of the good stuff that was new to the side and call me. Got a navy Ralph Lauren suit out of there with tags for $15. Took it to the cleaners, had it tailored and it looked like money for less than 100 bucks total. (Had the wizard Hispanic seamstress that worked out of her house that was an animal tailoring clothes for the low.)I hate buying clothing lol.
I will only buy from tj maxx or marshalls, even then I will only buy like 3-4 times a year and its usually old ralph lauren polo tshirts from 1-2 seasons ago.
lol at paying 1000% markups on thread sewn together in a sweatshop for $0.05.

I think if you view your money as a tool then you can approach budgeting different.
I grew up working class and living in the South we had to stretch our money. To this day I STILL feel guilt on spending money on certain items simply because of how I grew up.
On certain things I come to a certain approach. Spending $1000 on multiple pieces of luggage since I don't intend on ever buying those pieces again. Those are 'buy it for life' pieces and have a lifetime warranty.
I bought a handgun a few months ago and buying accessories for it (holster, sights, etc) I see as a good use of my money.
Buying coffee out of convenience or eating out all the time I could probably better utilize by making my own food for example. I get a 20% discount on my phone bill, but I could probably shave $10-15 bucks by going to a lower plan.
It depends on your perspective though.

In regards to moving out. Almost all my friends had moved out at 19. It's very rare to find someone 21+ whos still living at home. Living at home at 23, let alone 25+ and you're considered a huge loser, man baby, dependant etc. It's something my immigrant friends talk about from time to time, since it's normal in their culture to stay at home until marriage/when you can buy a house (ie 23+ at the very least).

You are a married man living with your mom. If you think its worth it to save 500 bucks, its your choice. But there are a ton of reasons why many people, many people like more intelligent than either me or you, would move out of their moms "apartment."
You can be frugal and also be independent. You are not independent. You are taking advantage of a situation to save money at the cost of living with your mom. Call it what it is.

Its in all of our best interests to have two stable income paying into the income apartment rather that some loser with a 500 credit score working and mcdonalds and can lose it at any moments notice.Lmao quite the defensive post here brah, you seem kind of insecure about living in your moms "apartment" aka addition. Again, I dont judge you for doing whats best for you. But dont prance around saying "only an idiot would move out of their moms house."

I am paying rent into a house I have equity in. Without me having lived there the last 7 of time years, there would be no house. The income apartment came to fruition because of the hard labor my father and I did to make the changes to the house, we couldnt afford to pay someone to do it so we bucked up and did it ourselves. Im not out to impress anyone on misc, I only really care about my families and myself as far as financial well being. Again, nothing bothers me. I couldnt care less if you still live at home. Just dont tell others they are morons for doing something 95% of young adults do in moving out of their parents house.

And I did move out of my parents house after college and they offered for me to come and live back until I can afford to purchase my own instead of paying somebody elses mortgage.
But believe me, once we have money for the down payment we are bolting. I want a two family income property, by living at home its cutting at least a year or two of savings for the down payment. I have the rest of my life to live on my own. There is no shame in accepting help in order to prosper in the future.

Good job getting out of the hole, srs. I see a lot of my friends already getting into unnecessary dept, because they're living above their means. I'm not sure if I should say anything. I figure it's none of my business, but damn, I just know they're gonna regret it within 10 years.
My dads an alcoholic, so I had to gtfo first chance I had anyway.

I'm with you in regards to your friends. Through the years I've found that people need to want to change before they're actually going to actively listen to your advice. In your friends case, it may very well be too late by the time they realize they're screwed.

Too many body juices on used furniture. Think of all the farts lodged into the fibers.
