Glad you are ok OP, my Uncle died before I was born, he was hit head on by a drunk driver, he had all the gear on but nothing would have saved him. I'm actually older now than he was when he died.

My dad had to drop his bike as an idiot pulled out infront of him at an intersection, chit happens so quick it's nearly impossible to react.

Good to hear you're ok brah. Chit is scary. Glad so many people stopped to help.

Know a lot of kids that died on bikes over the years.

My dad races them too. He stopped going out on the road. The only thing he does is go to the dragon in NC and rides his cruiser for a week. Otherwise he said he doesn't trust people on the road. Told me racing on the track is much safer haha.

So if you do get back on, maybe you go that route. But either way, glad it didn't turn out worse.

damn OP that's scary. glad you're ok. I can see you had a Cortech jacket and HJC helmet. care to give some credit to the rest of your gear? I currently ride with a Shoei RF-1200, BMW motorrad jacket and jeans. I never get on the highway but I'm going to grab some boots and pants after surgery. Looking for some recommendations. I've got some Sedici golves but they're to big and hot for summer/warm weather riding so I'll need something cooler.

Yeah i havnt had my 1st drop or crash yet, 3 years riding, its what scares me the most actually. About 20,000km in far north thailand, rest in Australia. Adrenaline rush, sense of freedom and living in the moment is worth it imo but we are all different

Lost count of the number of dudes I knew killed or seriously injured on bikes. It's not if but when you'll have accident. They are chainsaw on wheels. Had a dirt bike as a kid and loved it, but after a number of close calls, decided risk to benefit just not there for me.

If you are single no kids, etc, your biz. If married, kids, etc, then you have to consider it's not just about you anymore.

Glad you're alive and well, BlackJesus! Thankfully you were smart enough to be wearing gear!

Just last week my front wheel hit a tennis ball size rock while I was in a turn. I was only going 15mph but it gave me a shock to the system.

About a month ago, my front wheel ran over some broken peices of a brake light whilst I was in a turn. My front end slipped out; I almost ate sheit before the plastic thankfully shot out from benith the tyre.

Just left the scene of the accident and got some new pics. Counted where the bike initially hit and how far it tossed me.51 feetafter I was tossed over the handlebars. Pics incoming....
