a lot of microtransactions taking place make games seem like scams....like this game on your phone, Game of War. $100 for packs to basically even play the game and shortly later in order to keep up you have to keep buying packs and have deep pockets where as earning things don't exist. I understand getting an edge/advantage for things you pay for, but those things should still be capable of being earned. paying for things in a videogame that can't be earned otherwise makes the game a scam. however, playing longer where those things can be earned I will at least understand a bit

1. Green tea; most non-organic non-Japanese green/black tea are grown elsewhere in the world and are thus contaminated with high fluroide which results in health problems like weakened thyroid and weight GAIN. Talk about the scam of scams.
Other scams: Oatmeal, broccolli, Soy-anything.
You will lose weight if you drop those four major scams above.

The notion that all students in hs eventually need to go on to college.
University education can be a great thing, but only if reserved for the minority of students who actually have the intellectual ability and academic proclivity to thrive in that environment. Opening it up to everyone just causes a lowering of standards making university degrees much less meaningful.
Also, fuk companies for requiring every single low level job applicant to have a college degree. Does nothing but add to the problem.

Long term mortgages. I wouldn't call it a scam but its something people need to think about.
20+ years of debt, most of which is just interest paid to the company. and if you can't pay, they just take the house anyway.
like i said, not a scam but something to ponder

Insurance, specifically for expenses you could afford. While health insurance, home, life, etc. can be discussed in this thread for their own issues I want to call attention to items like dental insurance and extended warranties.
The only purpose insurance should serve is to protect you against life altering expenses such as a multi-million dollar auto liability suit, replacing a home damaged in a fire or providing treatment for a life threatening disease that may cost millions. But dental insurance? Extended warranties? Remember the way insurance companies make money is to take the likelihood of an event multiplied by the average expense of the event and then adding profit.
So if you have a 10% chance an appliance will fail under warranty and the average expense is $1000 the average risk you carry when you buy the item is $100. The insurance company will charge you $150 and you think you really saved money when you have the $1000 failure and it's covered under warranty. When the potential expense(s) can be handled within your budget it is always a better financial decision to be self insured.
For fun take a close look at your dental coverage and determine what you and your company are paying into that policy and then look at the annual coverage cap. You will usually find that at most the policy will pay out exactly what was paid into it and if you don't use it that's profit for the insurance company. It's nothing more than a forced savings account for those who live paycheck to paycheck except the balance left at the end of the year goes in their pockets, not yours.

"Dealership Services"
When a dealership charges someone $110 for "Cabin Air Filter Replacement" when the actual cabin air filter costs < $10 and you can replace it yourself in 5 minutes (even a random cheerleading sl00t could do it), then you know there's a problem.
Getting your oil changed? Next thing you know your "bearings need replaced, you need a brake flush, your alignment is out of wack, you need 'fuel injector service', 'battery service'(whatever the fuk that means), 'fluid changes', etc..or you might end up spinning out on the road and dying"
"But don't worry brah, we'll take care of all that for a $2,349. Even though you came in here for a $40 oil change, trust us bro, we're a certified dealership.."
No thanks Jeffrey

Probably been mentioned already but just LOL at putting your money in the bank at 1% interest and then borrowing it back at 18% to improve your "credit." No credit cards, debt free and pay money for things I want Crew checking in.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.
