absolutely... i have taken care of 3 of my step siblings since they were kids. 2 of them since they were born. they are without a doubt the best thing that ever happened to me. i would give up everything if i had to for their satisfaction. it actually hurts me everyday knowing that i'm not able to give them a better life as a brother since i'm not at a good point in my own life.
There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

See my post above somewhere. Wanting kids was something that ever entered my mind. I actually dislike kids a lot. Have 2 now. Love them, but still struggle with trying to be a good father and trying to devout my time and life to them. There are good days and bad days. I try to do my best and it's a constant learning experience. Luckily, my wife is a terrific mother, which I'm very thankful for.

Every adult is 100% responsible for building their family of choice and building a community around them that meets their needs now and into the future. One would hope they come to "entertain you" out of love and not some obscure DNA obligation.

Missing out on a lot of stress and debt, yes

One of my coworkers isn't much older than me but is married with 5 kids. He just asked me how my trip to the Maldives was so I told him and his only response was "fuk you man". Yeah, I'm not going to let life pass me by. Traveling and experiencing new things is what I live for. Can't do much of that with kids holding me down

First of all props to those that actually tell it like it is the ones that have kids and actually say if they had to do it again they wouldnt. Most people i know have kids look misreable and constantly complain about the money they spend on them how they dont have time for them etc etc and then they will say **** like its the best thing to ever happen to me.

I remember my manager was saying she pays $700-800 a month just for daycare ...That is a monthly payment on a r8 or used lamburghini. We not even talking about food , clothes, and other **** the kid will need. That would all be fine to pay that if the child would be greatfull but lets face it in todays world they will not be greatfull. At 18 they will move out and go to college you wont ever see them. Then they will finish school get married and/or get a job and you will be lucky to see them once or twice a month because they will be slaving away at their job. Is it really worth all that financial investment just to say you have a kid who you see few times a year. When you get old you think you will be living with your children ? Nope you will be placed in a old people home just like you would be if you didint have kids.

Not if they have a mom who first marries you then becomes scared of you, falls out of love with you, leaves you, claims she doesn't want you to stop being the father you are to you and her children, but ends up attempting to slowly manipulate them to turn against you, and tells them you are worthless and not a good dad, and you end up losing them and only seeing them a couple times per week while you spend the other half of that week playing video games, watching WWE or hoarding and playing with reptiles which you only turned to AFTER the divorce (never owned a single reptile before she took the kid and left) to numb all the ugliness and bitterness and loneliness that is your whole world!

I never wanted kids but I can understand why people have kids. They give a lot of people motivation and direction in life that they might have been missing all along. Everyday life can be mundane mane and thats why people fill these voids with activies and kids.

But anyway, I think ultimately self sacrifice is the biggest lesson we experience in life. To have kids and to raise them is probably one of the biggest lessons you can only experience first hand.

Everyone is different.

Will kids make YOU happy? Some people say yes, that is what will make them happy.

Me? I don't like the idea of having to raise a kid. I like the idea of traveling and buying fun cars. So that is what I do. Different strokes for different folks.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesnโ€™t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesnโ€™t mean anything either.
