Hit the gallon club with my donation in May, I got my pin the other day. Pretty cool.

I'm hesitant to donate again while I'm in marathon training, it impacts my breathing/blood O2 volume for a few days after, but I might set something up while I'm still early in training.

Donated on the 20th.

Prior to that, I failed the stick test several times. This time I made sure my iron was up enough to pass the stick.

My work organizes 2-3 drives a year. I wasn't able to donate for the past few years due to failing the stick test.

I did donate in June though.

Why I do it? My mum had to get blood several times during her last months of her life. Because of that, I got a few more months with her.

Nice, I just noticed this thread, I think it's great.
No reps needed, I actually give blood regularly because my hematocrit gets high.
But I've been talking to the folks and have learned alot - blood is truly constantly needed.
I also like that Red Cross tells you what hospital your blood went to, that's cool.

Signed up for 9/10 at work, we do it twice a year, every six months. I should go more often in between, I know. This one is gonna kinda be a bitch because I'm marathon training and last time it zapped my blood oxygen levels for a few days.

I did get my gallon pin off the last one.

Great. Giving blood is the best way to reduce hemotocrit levels. Mine ranges from 42 to 46.

First donation after taking a break due to torn ACL and
subsequent reconstruction surgery and rehab in 2019.

Donated platelets for the first time. Might not donate platelets again.. takes 2 hours and 30 minutes and I was getting restless for last 20-30 minutes.

Edit: I repped the recent people ITT, yell if I missed you.

Just a reminder everyone - with the current health crisis, blood supplies are critically low in many areas.

If you can donate, please do. Just do itwith an appointmentwith your local blood service. Walk-ins may be severely limited.
